What would you guys do for maximum muscle gains ?
Start your cycle after a bulking phase, where strength would already be at it's peak ? or start your cycle after a cutting phase, where the calorie increase would be anabolic, along with the cycle itself ?

Cutting before cycle is optimum IMO (and that's all it is). Getting rid of excess fat levels prior to a cycle is something that can be continued through the cycle if the right components are used on cycle and you have the diet down pat and clean. Immediately after cycle you will not be cutting but will continue in "bulk mode" to retain the gains you made on cycle. Cutting during PCT is a path to gains lost. Cutting even a few weeks after full PCT is just giving your body an excuse to dump this extra mass that it didn't want in the first place. As far as strength issues - yes, you may be a few pounds under your strong lifts at the start, but again, using the right components while ON cycle will more than correct this with a quickness. Cutting prior to cycle is a great opportunity to lose some BF% and then watch it come back in the form of LBM on cycle. You can always cut again prior to the next one.
I myself am off the orals totally and will be in a darker place from now on. Much easier on the system.
Good luck with whatever you're planning!

body comp wise I think it's a great idea to cut as adjusting to a calorie surplus as well as a cycle would lead to explosive gains. The only problem I have with it is that you'll be doing a cut-type routine which is typically more days per week and lighter weights; <-- either due to the format of the routine or due to a lack in strength because of a calorie deficit. The jump from lighter weights to all of a sudden being on cycle could lead to some difficulty adjusting. I know without even doing a cycle, just simply going back to heavy weights takes me a week or so to adjust; it could be even longer if coming off of a cut and going to the extreme of an on-cycle bulk. That could be a couple weeks where you're not taking full advantage of the hormones. I'd take at least 1 week, probably 2-3, of lifting heavy just to get your body ready again
