    whey protein??

Okay, I think I'll start using some soon, but I'm really clueless about it. Which one should I get? Should I get like protein shakes, or pure whey protein powder and mix that with like water and skim milk and such? Or put it in my oatmeal? Does it matter which brand or is all whey protein the same quality? I'm trying to cut so I can't get the ones with chocolate and vanilla flavor right? Or is that ok? Thanks.

I dont think the flavors matter....

but Optimum Nutrition's Gold Standard is pretty good.

if you want no carbs...VPX Zero Carb 'graham cracker' is really good. They also have natural flavor.

buy whey protein (isolates). star nutritions whey 100 is good.

Just mix it with water and take right after your workout.

Its really all about what taste good and how it mixes. For the most part whey is whey.

If you are lactose intolerant you might want to buy a whey isolate.

Isolates are more expensive and not really needed unless you are lactose intolerant. Im sure someone will disagree with me though

Forgot to mention, dont buy them locally if you can keep from it. They are much cheaper online at places like bodybuilding.com

But note that there is strawberry in one company and strawberry in another (flavor) and one will taste so much better than another...be sure to look at that sugar level and fats. Just from what I've learned experimenting with different kinds and the awesome help on bb.com

Yeah, I'm in Holland though... I'll ask around on a dutch bodybuilding forum maybe that'd be better since they have the same brands and everything.

I bought Optimum Nutrition's whey from here along with a shaker. I have one glass of whey in the morning right after waking up, then for a post-workout I mix protein, creatine, and dextrose in the shaker. At night, I have a glass of casein protein before bed.

i think it would depend on how much protien u want to take in. From what I've read, you should do as few shakes as possible and try to get your protiens etc from whole foods. But perhaps u could mixed a scoop of whey in your MRP.

I'm pretty sure all whey proteins are now, but make sure it's Cold Temperature Processed Microfiltered Whey.

It's the most popular as well.

No, not all whey protein is the same. Whey proteins, for example, at the grocery store, usually contain less isolate proteins and a lower protein count, as well as more things you don't want such as carbs and saturated fats, if you don't know what that means, let O.N. do the worryign for you, and buy from Optimum Nutrition.[/QUOTE]

Flavor is irrilivent: Choose the flavor that you like, although I reccomend you buy more than one (even though that is expensive) because you may get bored of it, presonnally, I never get bored of the taste of chocolite but that's my opion, not yours.

Really? I thought whey protein was the best. If I can get all my protein from whole foods would it be bad for me to use whey protein then? It's good for first thing morning, pre and post workout, right? Tnx.
