Is muscle not more compact than fat though? This could be why people believe they can reduce fat in a specific area, whereas you aren't. Like flabby arms (Bingo wings)

"American" is a nationality, and being "Muslim" is being of the faith of Islam. So no, its not racism. But it is a stupid ****ing thread topic.

Yes. Specifically, as long as we're nitpicking, both PoW and Islam guy's comments were bigoted.

what you don't "get", is the hightened sensitivity that exists in our country ever since 9/11....

especially those of us who live very near to it and have lost people who were dear to us......put me squarely in that category......

True Islamics are very peaceful people, who are scrupulous about their lifestyle and what they put into their bodies....

They are usually appalled at the Radical groups and terrorists and everything they stand for.......

True Islamics would NEVER answer as you did: " stfu american pigs"....

that line was a giveaway.....under your screen name it clearly says, just a joke....but what I am trying to emphasize is that in our country, many of us just cannot take that as a joke......

SO: you are a typical internet phony...you sound more like some of those misguided Canadiens who speak out against a country that has watched their back for 2 centuries....

that's if you even ARE Candadien: Who knows???? This IS the internet.....

everyone here could be nothing but bull****e in what they say or do....unless we meet each other in some sort of get together(s), no one really knows.....

a true Islamic would have answered that heckler by explaining what Islam means to you, not the way you answered it.......

IN my eyes that makes two strikes against you:

    1. your identity is a sham

    2. you know absolutely NOTHING about physiology....

but then, that is what a forum like this is for, right? to ask questions and to learn?

fine: but I for one, will also no longer grace any thread that you start unless you came completely clean about your identity......

Ok, first of all thank you "JOHN GARGANI" and "rockhuddy". That's a ridiculous topic.

Now, my question is what about the other way around? If doing high reps to gain definition is useless, does that mean that doing low reps (in addition to eating properly) to gain mass is useless?

You can add mass to selected areas which WILL lower the fat % of a given area because you've altered the fat to mass ratio in favor of lean mass. THis is why some heavy weighted decline sit-ups will make your abs look more defined; because you've added more muscle there.
