" If you think Vin is a badass, you should watch the first Predator movie. Notice how gracefully Arnold displays his "22"'s if you know what I mean or for that matter any other movie Arnold was in."
Stupid comparison, ARNOLD was the greatest bodybuilder ever, and of the time of making predator, ARNOLD was still HUGE!!
Not many actors or any at all could compare to ARNOLD in SIZE during the eighties!!

FYI, Arthur Jones measured Arnies arms at 20' in Arnolds prime. I doubt Arnold retired to make movies, got of steroids, lost weight, and somehow added 2 inches to his arms.
Just trying to curtail the rampant exaggerations of bodypart sizes prevalkent in bodybuilding and bodybuilding catalogs."The difference between the champion and the challenger is that the champion ALWAYS gets up before the count of 10" -- Me

that was said by sergio, so he could say his arms are bigger, Im not taking anything away from sergio but his arms were not as big as arnolds, his bicep barely even had a peak
I was owndering the same thing MrB... when did arnie's arms become 22s... I'm pretty sure he had 20s...

Luke 530, I'm pretty sure that Arthur Jones said that Oliva's arms were the biggest he ever measured.
Safe to say Sergo was quite a bit more muscular than arnold. Not being a "Weider Guy" really hurt Sergio. BY the time he migrated to the states, Oliva was already known as a really good olympic lifter, and preferred to train himself.
Arnold, on the other hand, was an unknown phenom (despite winning some small european contests as a teen). Being trained by weider was quite lucrative for both of them.
Arthur Jones didn't bull**** aorund. The man carried a tape with him. He was on a crusade for honest measurements as he thought exaggerrated measurements dishearted the uneducated lifter. If you claimed a big measurement on a bodypart, arthur was gonna put you on the spot, then and there, for a measurement.
It's funny how guys claim 20+ inch arms and then a 30-33 inch waist, yet their waists look twice as big as their arms. Funny isn't it?
Muscle size exaggerations started a long, long, time ago ... at least 40 years ago in magazines. It's nothing new.
I think we call look at both, Sergio and arnold and see that they have 2 of the greatest physiques ever, regardless of their legitimate measurements."The difference between the champion and the challenger is that the champion ALWAYS gets up before the count of 10" -- Me

ROFL
do you know where the biggest muscle exaggerations occur?
the good 'ol bodybuilding.com forums... where everyone seems to have 18" arms and be 15 years of age... yet they do not have any pictures...
also, everyone seems to be able to squat 315+ (including newbies)... although the weighrt is not great... it's still hard to believe... at least no parallel

Arnold's Arms
Like 20" is shameful. LOL
You are probably right, I'm not about to get into a huge argument over something as little as this. I got the 22" information at Arnold's website:
http://www.schwarzenegger.com - It is located in the "Ask Arnold" section under May/June 2000.

It only takes one person to exaggerate a lift/bodypart to get to start a whole cahin of exaggerations.
Here's how it goes, Lifter X says "My arms are 19 inches (in reality they're 16). So someone sees a pic of the ugy and say, "Hey if his arms are 19, then mine are at least 17 (in reality they are 15), so everyone runs aorund adding 3 inches to arm measurements (or so).
Truth be told, a muscularly lean 18-inch arm is very impressive.
I'll try to find the site, it had the measurements of the first 5 Mr. America winners. Keep in mind these guys would still be huge for the drug-free lifter ... but don't compare to the GH-Rx riddled BB-Pro of today.
Not one arm over 18.5, not one thigh over 27-inches.
Bodybuilding is all about illusion. It's making a 19-inch arm look like it's 23 inches. It's about flaring the toes out to make a 28-inch thigh look like a 33-inch thigh.
Onc and a while, they'll put a pic in that shows arm/leg from a diferent angle and it will look "small" because it's not in the traditional "illusional pose".
Don't get me wrong, these guys are huge, but the whole point of pictures is to make them look a lot bigger.
a 20-inch (circumference) head is big, look at the pics and see if guys' arms look as big as their head."The difference between the champion and the challenger is that the champion ALWAYS gets up before the count of 10" -- Me
