since people are posting pics I thought I'd post mine. I'd like to think of myself as a 'powerbuilder'. I have followed a BB routine for years but have always tried to lift heavy. Weighin' about 240lbs atm, totally clean and unnatural, not even supps - just good old food. Never diet - just lift and eat a lot.

thinking about juicing next year though - because I can like only bench 315 X 3 and I think I should be doing a lot better than that. All these dudes doing 405 x 10 or whatever.....man... I don't know how you do it!

You're bigger than me and we're about the same strength. Don't take this to offence but you seem to be an "inflated" bodybuilder. That is, you've trained to push nutrients and water to hold in your muscles well.

Big spaz has a real hard look, like his muscles are true contractile proteins.

405 for 10 reps and you are wondering if you can sholder press the 130s?
    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

my max bench is 355lbs for 1 rep and i can get the 105s for 6 reps sholder presses.

a claim of 400 for 10 is alittle far fetched imho. but thats just my opinion.
and you know what they say about opinions....

I may not be the best judge of if Spaz can shoulder press the 130's, but i'll be in the gym to see him try it. I will say however, that I was the one that spotted a month ago when he benched 435x6. If I were putting money down on him getting 130, I wouldn't think twice about throwing a huge chunk of change saying he would get them.

130's are great for shoulder presses but not the stuff of legend.. now, a 500 raw legal bench for a natural 220'er is amazing. The other guy that size I know of who does that is going head to head with travis mash when equipped..

This thread gets funnier every day

I notice now that we have confirmation from Kello who is a big contributor to this board.

Signed up today and that was his first post.

Gimme a minute and I'll come up with a collaborator to swear I can crush golf balls with my sphyncter.

Not saying he's not legit but it just don't look too good. Best way to get recognition is just to post a vid. Simple.

And btw theres really no way to guess how much a guy can lift by how he looks. I've seen guys who were gigantic struggle with light weights and seemingly slim guys put up huge poundages. You never know.

That's great. I told Spaz yesterday when I saw him that it would only be matter of time that I was called out for not having a whopping post total like coyote. That's alright though, just as he's got nothing to prove, I have nothing to gain by lying for him. And if the bst thing you got to discount me is my post total, then that speaks for itself.

John, I stopped doing grip work after I quit competing in Powerlifting (late 2001). Before that I did heavy rack pulls and alot of hangs (just bodyweight hangs, using 30 second and 60 second intervals). Since then the only grip work I do is heavy deadlifts from the floor.

I haven't competed in strongman yet. The local meet (Quarryville, PA) only has two weight classes, under 198 and over 198. Well I'm 225, so that screws me over. Too heavy for the light weights and not enough gerth for the heavys. So maybe if I get to 240 or 250 I will give that a go. The tire flip looks real fun.

Well tonight was Thursday night and it was the night I wanted to try the 130's. Didn't happen and I can admit that. I didn't even give them a try. I used the 110's after I did my smith machine shoulder presses and I got the first set for 8, the second for 6, the third for 6 and the fourth set for 5. I honestly had a hard time getting the 110's into position. Once they were up, they were pretty easy to press. Both Kell "kello" and Big Mike "m_ohler64" were there asking me to give the 130's a try. I wanted to, but honestly without someone giving them to me at shoulder level, there is no way I can get them into position. Who knows, maybe the problem is my height. But either way...

So there you have it, a man can admit when he's wrong. (but deep down we all know if the spazman really wanted to do them he could )

Powerhooks my man, powerhooks. I got my pair in yesterday and they are great. No more worrying about how you are going to get the dumbells from the rack and up into position.

Is it safe to say that db shoulder press has no correlation with bench?

Because no offence Spaz, your overhead strength is really weak compared to your bench. Not being able to kick the 130's back and rep it, but can bench 435x6 is crazy weird to me.

I built myself up to using the 100's on db milts for 6 reps. Can i sit on that and get to a 405 bench? Or should i keep building this movement up to assist me? (My bench is around 350 atm).

I don't really think it's an "idiotic" claim.

While I can't even come close to that, and not many people can, what's so unrealistic about it? He posted his pic and is a big guy. I believe him.

425x6 is not insane. I'd like tro see a vid of a 440x2 or so, just to make sure spotters hands are nowhere to be seen. But there are more than a few people who can do that. I know a 250lb guy who is getting close to that and he's not even a lifter/bb. He's a thrower and natural too.

That is some achievement, i can do 100lb x 6, but only on one arm lol I need the other to help get it up, 130 at your age is pretty damn impressive, especially at 5'4. I'm 5'11, 210lb. I don't doubt spaz can't do the bench he says he can. I've seen a few people crack the 200kg mark. Nice.

Yes, you are right, and it was a pretty stupid comment on my part haha. I'm pretty big, but can only get 305 one time, and that is a struggle.

But I still don't see any reason for him to lie about it. I've seen a few people rep 405.

Dude, I'm not to get into a crap shoot with you. Here's the bottom line, if you don't believe me, that's fine. Really I don't care. I'm telling you I can do it, your telling me I can't. We can agree to disagree. Kello is my best friend, he spotted me on the lift, I have nothing to gain by lying. I don't need my e-ego pumped up or anything. I posted a picture, I showed who I am. I'm not hiding and I'm not lying, so think what you will. I really don't care.

Thanks man. I mean really, what would I get out of lying? That's just stupid. And all this coming from a guy with under 40 posts. Get a clue man.
