The Anabolic Diet by Dr. Mauro DiPasquale

Just read this book on reccomendation from a friend. I was skeptical before about being on a high fat high protein ONLY diet with only carbs at the weekends but it does make sense when you read the book.

In practical terms has anyone had success with this diet? What's the opinion here on it?

are you still cutting for summer '07?

Anabolic diet is good especially for those who have been cycling low fat diets for so long. You'll notice a spike in drive.

The body will adapt, though. Then you'll shortly need to switch back to a baseline diet.

It may very well work for you, so give it a shot for and wait two weeks before considering quitting.

Ive played around with it. 2months on it b4 mxas, a month off and iv been on it 2 weeks again.
I dont have many numbers for you, but on the transition I lost 7kg in 9 days. I moved 30tonne of granite that week, and had 4 pretty hard workouts.

Im now leaner than ever eathing things I really enjoy, and you cant even imagine the amount of energy I have. I bounce out of bed, and go hard all day till after midnight. If vascular is what youre after, even my knees and elbows are ripped. Didnt even know I could show veins in those places.

They say not every diet suits evry person, but this must be the closest thing to perfect you will ever find.

This diet is my holy grail.

Im on the diet and I show ketosis everyday, even on the weekends. Showing on the ketostrips (pee strips, haha)

Yeah, I dont know why they would say it isnt keto. Maybe just a technical thing. Maybe because you get 30g carbs per day. But your still in ketosis. Its the whole key. you need to be burning fat, and when you are eating a lot of fat and getting leaner at the same taime, I dont see hoe the body wouldnt be converting fats to ketones.

Perhaps the 30g carbs is all that the brain needs after storing it in the liver. hmmm

I did something like it and it was highly successful for me. Over a ten week phase, I lost 20 lbs of fat, gained five lbs of muscle for net 15 lb loss. All verified by bodpod. Muscle gains are probably specific to my status as a newbie lifter.

I ate at 1,000 calorie deficit during the week, including daily LISS cardio.

I ate at about 200 calorie daily surplus over the weekend which included two heavy lifting workouts.

Every day I got 200 g protein. Weekday pretty much everything else was fat. Weekend pretty much everything else was carb.
