I agree squats...
You looked great. Id put some real effort into getting some quad mass put on. I worked very hard this year to add size to my shoulders...it has worked they are much larger than my show this year in April. Concentrate on legs and you'll have them!!!

Good to see these other pics of you. You look great. Once you bring those legs up you are going to be a major force to recoken (sp) with on an overall posedown with the heavyweights! Look forward to your future!

Thanks for the comments. I'm slamming those legs hard and cranking those calves. I'm currently bulking. I will post some pics in about a month or so. I wanna stay in the 8 to 10% bodyfat range.

Cardio
when it comes to cardio, which is best for loosing fat, do i set the machine on fat burn or cardio? i have heard mixed reviews on this. some say to set it on fat burn which would make my heart rate 118 to 120 and do this for 45 min. Others have said to set it on cardio, and do a HIIT style of cardio. I really want to lose bodyfat...which is best and why?

I think both can be effective at burning fat.
I'm told by very well respected trainers and nutritionists that doing cardio when you wake up BEFORE you eat breakfast at 60-65% of your max heart rate is the optimal way to burn fat.

Yeah doing cardio before breakfast is optimal for catabolism and eating the hell out of your muscles

That is untrue. I have read alot on it and learned alot. Even though everyone is different, doing cardio 1st thing in the AM on an empty stomach does NOT eat muscle. Your body uses fat as energy not the muscle. Now if you were to do 50, 60, 70 or more min of cardio on an empty stomach, yes you would lose muscle. But brief intense cardio in the AM i really good at FAT burning.

You're an idiot. You might want to look into who you're slamming, what they know, and what they're experience level is before you run your mouth and indirectly slam other people.

fasted-state cardio definately isn't a good idea; though he could have expressed it more tactfully.

Maybe I didn't clarify myself enough.
The BEST time to burn fat is in the morning, before your first meal. It is scientifically proven that you burn fat at a much higher rate before consuming food.
The BEST way to preserve muscle while doing cardio is to keep your heart rate at about 60% of it's maximum.
Beyond that, there are more tricks and trades but at no point was I referring to overall muscle retention (which is what choke was getting at). But look at it this way (this is only an example, I don't scientific data to back this up): you can do cardio my way, burn 50% more fat and 20% more muscle, or you can do cardio sometime after you've eaten and raised your blood sugar and it will take TWICE as much cardio to burn the same amount of fat, which then will, in the end, burn off more muscle.

Most gyms have equipment with heart rate monitors built in.

I am going to have to disagree here with you. Look at this from a logical stand point as well as scientific.
When you sleep for 6-8 hours during the night you automatically wake up in a catabolic state. Now, if you go and do cardio, whether it be a light 40 minute session or an intense 15-20 minute session, without having consumed ANY nutrients, you will be (and are) driving your body further into a catabolic state. What makes you think that by doing intense cardio is somehow going to switch your body out of it's already catabolic state and somehow miraculously spare muscle and burn more fat? LOL! Your body is NOT going to turn to fat for fuel, instead, it will turn to muscle tissue for fuel because it's already in a non-growth (catabolic) state.
You are "shooting yourself in the foot" before you even begin by not having a meal and giving your body the nutrients (fuel) it needs before doing ANY activity.
Would you go all day without eating a single thing (9am - 5pm) and then do cardio on an empty stomach? Uh.... NO! So how can you even remotely feel it is an optimal method to do the same exact thing after sleeping for 6-8 hours and perform an intense cardio session without fueling your body properly?
Not sure what studies you've been reading, but some logical thinking and common sense on how the body works would tell you otherwise.
Another point you fail to realize is that if you want to burn fat via cardio, most of the fat burning affects are seen in the several hours after your session is over. It's the after affects of high intensity cardio where you actually burn more fat and calories, NOT DURING the session.
Point being...if you go do your cardio on an empty stomach, you WILL NOT perform optimally during your cardio bout because you have not fueled your body at all, and therefore will not get as much out of it in order to reap the fat burning benefits in the hours following your cardio. In short, your performance will be sub-par.... and so will your results.
