Vanilla Review:
<img src="http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/all/iso.jpg">
Serving:
I had a trail packet that I got from the Olympia expo that was 1.1 oz (30g). The directions said to fix it with 6 oz water, so I did.
Mixibility: 9/10
The protein is an isolate, so it mixes very well. I used a shaker for my review. No clumping, but the usual foam from isolate.
Taste: 8/10
It has been a while since I had any vanilla protein, so it was nice to finally have some. Upon opening the packet, it smelled great... just like vanilla bean. However, when I mixed it with water, it smelled funny... nothing like vanilla bean. When I gulped it down (fearing it tasted like it smelled), I was surprised how well it tasted. It wasn't a strong vanilla taste, but it was there. The aftertaste that is left in my mouth still tastes good. This isn't the best vanilla protein I have had, but still tastes pretty good.
Price: 6/10
BB.com sells it for $26.99 for a 2 lb container. This is not the best price compared to ON, HP, or other brands. You can probably find it cheaper somewhere, but still pricey when compared to other whey products. But, it isn't too bad comapred to pure isolate products.
Overall 8/10
If price isn't an issue, give it a shot. It tastes good, mixes well, and the ingredients are solid.

AllMax Isoflex - Chocolate
Pro's: higher protein than previous isolates I've tried (i.e., Dymatize ISO-90 & 100). Also, the scoop is very accurate. Many protein powders in general require a "heaping scoop" in order to achieve their supposed calories. This one was right on the amount of grams per serving. It also has other added supplements such as arginine, glutamine and BCAA's. The higher price of the product obviously is obviously due to these additions.
Con's: large chocolate chips that haven't been properly grinded. Since they are scattered throughout the product they can throw off the nutritional information of the product. Also, they annoying to drink as they do not fit into a regular sized straw.
Neutral Points: The product doesn't have a lot of taste which means that it can be easily diluted by adding too much milk, but on a plus side, one doesn't need to use as much milk to have a shake.
Overall: I think Allmax Isoflex is an average isolate. The weak taste and chocolate chips reflect it's lower quality to isolates such as the Dymatize ISO-100 that I regularily purchase. I would rather pay less and be able to control my NO2, BCAA, and glutamine supplementation and have a better tasting product with an equivalent macronutrient breakdown.Last edited by numinix; 12-18-2006 at 03:48 PM.

I found the vanilla had very little flavor when mixed with milk. Just slightly sweeter and a slight vanilla taste. Not bad but nothing amazing either. I'm sure the other flavors are better though, vanilla is incredibly hard to flavor correctly.

I've been using Isoflex for around 3 months now and finished around 6lbs of the stuff, and man i have to say this stuff tops the cake in any post-workout shake. It's best used after your workout but it also can be used to get your protein intake. I'm tooth pick so when i started gaining some muscles after the first month of using it i was hooked. I went from 140 to 152 lbs (currently) in 3 months of solid muscle. It's pure protein, fast absorbing and the best part is that it's low in fat. I'd recommend it to anyone to trying to gain muscle and stay ripped.
This **** is awesome...

I use IsoFlex for years now and I love it.
But a couple of days ago I bought a new 2lb package. Design is slightly different and I see that it has 0 fat now.
The problem is that this (I suppose new) formula doesn't mix well and it tastes awful. I don't know if I just got a bad batch (never happened before) or AllMax just screwed up my favorite whey protein
If this is a new formula, I will definitely start looking for alternatives.
