Squats: Disadvantages to board under heels?

Well, are there any disadvantages to doing squats this way? It takes alot of stress of the calves and allows me to focus without the pain. They are SO much more enjoyable, I actually like squatting now. I assume there will be less stress on the outer quads too. Anything else?

There's a whole group of athletes who squat with elevated heels. In fact, they're the only group of weightlifters to make it to the olympics, in fact they just happen to be known as, "Olympic Weightlifters."

Funny that it works for their power goals, hamstring and glute development and all that hunky dory crap. So if it works for you as well, is it REALLY that big of a surprise?
