I have been eating Zone bars between meals just because they taste good and it's a good way to toss down some food if I can't sit down and eat. But I am guessing that there are probably more Keto-friendly options out there. I think the Zone bar has 24 grams of carbs minus a small amount of fiber.
Does anyone have a recommendation on what might be a good protein bar option for Keto programs?
I started my Keto today! Hoping for great things. I did really well a couple years ago with cutting fat for a trip to Hawaii (now THAT is great motivation). Lost 30 pounds by following more of the South Beach approach rather than Atkins. Think I will go much that same route but maybe add a bit more fat to see if that helps overall.

Any thoughts on a good Keto-friendly protein bar?

If you have access to a coolbag (or better still, a freezer) you can make your own keto bars with various combinations of whey, peanut butter, coconut oil or coconut milk, sesame seeds, flaxmeal etc. Some of them are inclined to get a little sticky in the heat.
One that I occasionally eat as a snack is called Go Lower http://www.lowcarbchocolates.com/golowerbars1.html. They taste good and they've never affected ketosis for me. But they are pretty expensive for what you get, so mostly I carry a couple of small tubs of cream cheese or cottage cheese or some nuts, or biltong.65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.

sugar alcohol
I have looked at a ton of protien bars and a lot of them have a high level of sugar alcohol in them.
Many of them subtract the sugar alcohols from the total carb count when they list the net carbs. Is this because they have a lower glycemic impact?
my question is will sugar alcohol carbs knock you out of ketosis?
I have been wondering this for years but haven't found any answers.

Some people are affected by sugar alcohols, others just get belly cramps, farting and the runs. I suspect that the more easily you can eat bars with sugar alcohols, the more likely it is that your body can utilise them, so they will affect ketosis.
My feeling is that even if they really don't count towards carbs, even a small bar has a shocking number of calories for the amount of food you get to eat. I carry them occasionally when I'm travelling, but I ususally try to find some real food to eat.65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs = keto.
