dressagerulz23's Cissus Rx Log (Part 2)...

...since my first log got so rudely interrupted by lack of Cissus Rx, (courteosy of the f*cking FDA), as well other ppl hi-jacking my log .

So I will begin by saying this: People - while some of you make not agree with all of the supplements that take, I've asked you not to keep trashing every log I try to create... my doctor (endocrinologist) knows of (AND APPROVES) all that I am taking, and not everyone is going to see eye to eye on everything, so I ask that you read this http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=631937 and please keep the discussion on the topic of Cissus Rx. Mods, if ppl start trashing this log, I hope that you will be true to your word and enforce this http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=631937 . I'm keeping this log because Cissus Rx has helped me out INCREDIBLY, and I feel that I owe it to USPlabs, as well as to others who may really benefit from the product.

With that being said, I will post my background info and a short summary of my previous experience with Cissus Rx before beginning the log. In my log - since it is really about Cissus Rx - I will also post the results/experiences of friends/family memebers to whom I have given this product. After the Cissus Rx went back on the market, and I placed my order of 7 bottles this past Saturday, so many of my friends/family members showed interest that I placed a second order of 6 bottles (so hopefully I will have lots to report).

Much of my "background info"/summary of my previous experience with Cissus Rx is copied/pasted directly from my old log; i've also copied/pasted my recent results with Cissus Rx, which I posted in a few other threads. For those of you who haven't seen my old log, or read those other threads, it's easier to have this information consolidated in one place.

Time for my background info/summary; then I will begin my log. I am going out in a bit, so if I don't finish this morning, I will by this evening.

Background Info

The Product: Cissus Rx by USP Labs

Purpose: this product is marketed to "kill pain, heal injury, strengthen muscle, and build bone."

Supplement Facts:
Serving Size: 2 capsules
Servings/Container: 65

Amount Per Serving:
Cissus quadrangularis 1.6g

NOTE: USPlabs is giving you ppl more for the $$$ The older bottles of Cissus Rx had Serving Size: 2 capsules, and Servings/Container: 65... but the Amount Per Serving was 1.22g!!! So everyone is now getting ~25% MORE per bottle!!!

Goal/Purpose: (1) To literally build bone!!! (I have osteoporosis in my spine and mild-severe osteopenia in other sites, so I wish to build my bone density up back to normal). (2) I also have a few old tendon/muscle injuries that feel like they've never really healed completely, so I hope to improve these issues - nothing major, but just the mild tightness/stiffness and occasional soreness; but it still would be nice to be free of this.

Recent (2005) History:I have hormonal imbalances, including: f*cked up glucose/insulin levels/metabolism, (which is extremely exacerbated by estrogen/"female" reproductive hormones), and VERY low levels of GH & testosterone, as well as low-low normal "thyroid hormones" (TSH, T4, and T3). These imbalances DRIVE me to overeat, and cause extreme fatigue; they have also contributed to my ostoeporosis/low bone density. Another contributing factor to my osteoporosis was practically no calcium intake (from food) during my teenage years, due to being lactose intolerant, (which i have since grown out of), and having poor nutrition knowledge of other calcium sources. I was taking a calcium supplement during my teenage years, but at the time I knew very little; and from what i know now, the supplement I was taking did me no good... considering: I took calcium carbonate, (the most poorly absorbed form of calcium); I took it right before bed = on an empty stomach (calcium, like most supplements, is much better absorbed when taken with food; but calcium carbonate MUST be taken with food, in order to be absorbed); and I only took 60-100% daily value (i've read absorpton of calcium carbonate is, at BEST, ~10% of what you take).

Currently, I get 5-6 (oftentimes even more) "servings"/day of calcium... from dairy sources alone. To be on the safe side, I define a "serving" as 35% (350mg), rather than 25% (250mg) DV calcium. I drink at least 5 glasses (many times 6) per day, of Hood's Carb Countdown skim milk, which is my primary source of calcium.

In terms of supplementation, (most specific for my osteoporosis): I take 1/2 serv./day (each) of 2 different top quality calcium formulas by Pioneer (one a citrate based formula with ipriflavone, the other a hydroxyapetite form of calcium - both contain magnesium and other trace minearls as well); prescription Vitamin D; and "mega-doses" of Vitamin K (primarily the K2 form). For prescription meds, I take Miacalcin (a nasal spray which builds bone density in the spine) and a specially compounded testosterone cream.

How I Intend to Use Cissus Rx: 4 servings/day (6.4g/day); my dosing is higher than suggested, but this is what was recommended to me by the person who "introduced me" to Cissus (on the AL message boards)... as well as by Ceosm, from USPlabs!!! ; the literature http://www.leverage.tv/cissus.htm also verifies the safety/effectiveness of this dose.

Basics:
Age: 24.5
Sex: Female
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 111-112ish
BF: 16% (October 8th, 2005); to be taken again as soon as my trainer/friend can get me in!

Workouts (general):
Cardio: (intense) 60-62 min, 6x/week (mostly the elliptical, but I will start to run again after ~1-2 weeks on the Cissus);
Weights: 2-3x/week - I switched up my routine at the end of August to what I was doing back in '98* (when I was in the best shape of my life); basically it's a full body workout - 2 sets/exercise (for a total of 24 sets)... but the sets are a MINIMUM of 2 minutes in length, w/ only a minute rest between sets (it is a really gruelling, "endurance" type workout; awesome for toning/avoiding bulking up, if those are your goals). It takes ~ 45-50 min. I then take a five min rest, and finish with "the mega set": 72 reps on the gravitron - consisting of 3 sets of 12 reps of dips, supersetted with 3 sets of 12 reps of pull-ups ("normal", side grip, and wide grip). I do the gravitron at "normal" speed (as opposed to super slow like the rest of my workout).
Abs: Just switched up my routine ~1-1.5 weeks ago from: 2-3x/week, 2 exercises supersetted (35 reps each) X 3; for 210 reps/ab workout..... to: 2 exercises supersetted (20 reps each) X 4; for 160 reps/ab workout, EOD

mg/day of Pioneer's calcium citrate formula)
5. BCAA's (Prolab) – 1 serving/day
6. Glutamine (CountryLife) – 1 serving (500 mg)/day
7. EFA's (Designs For Health) – 1-2 servings/day
8. Vitamin K (Vitamin Research Products) – 2 servings (= 3mg)/day
9. Vitamin C complex (Pioneer) – 3 servings/day (= 3 g/day Vit C)
*10. Prescription Vitamin D – 50,000 IU 1x/every 3 weeks
*11. Prescription Potassium – 1 tablet/day
*12. Miacalcin (Novartis) – 1 spray/day
*13. Testosterone – 2 mg/day
14. Fiber – Inulin (FiberChoice) – 0-6 tablets/day, as needed
15. OxyPowder (Global Healing Center) – 10 capsules (2 servings) at night w/ 7-10g squeezed lemon juice, EOD
16. Cissus quadrangularis (Cissus Rx by USPLabs) – 8 capsules (6.4 g)/day

B. Other: to combat EXTREME fatigue and EXCESSIVE (5,000-6,000+ cals/day) overeating
~All are taken on an “as needed” basis
~See training journal for record of use
17. Hoodia Gordonii (Desert Burn) 0 – 1.5 grams (0-2 capsules)/day, as needed (most days just 1 cap)
18. Thermogenics: INTENDED for ENEGRY and/or APPETITE SUPPRESSION (NOT FAT LOSS) (right now my “arsenal” consists of Iron Tek’s Lumatol, ANSI’s Hydroxadrine (ephedra version), and Ergopharm’s AMP); I honestly don’t take very much… the Lumatol I take (1/2 serv.) every day… but ONLY to help eliminate that ‘NEED TO EAT NOW!’ feeling that occurs 30 min – 2 hrs. after a meal (since the Lumatol has the Caralluma fimbriata); then, on days when I need an extra energy boost, I’ll usually take ONLY ONE cap of ANSI’s Hydroxadrine (1 cap = 1/3 serv!!!), or 1-2 caps of AMP; on “good energy” weeks, I’ll usually only need extra stimulation 1-3 days; “bad energy” weeks, I’ll need extra stimulation 5-6 days (and again – almost always just ONE cap of ANSI’s Hydroxadrine, or 1-2 caps AMP)
19. Sleeping aides - Shiff's Knock Out (0-1 tablet/day) OR Tylenol's Simply Sleep (Diphenhydramine HCl) (0-2 pills/day), OR Vitanica’s Sleepblend (0-4 caps/day), all as needed; lately, I’ve been feeling SO AWESOME/HEALTHY that I haven’t needed them. I almost always take them on weekend nights (even though I don’t really need them to get to sleep) in order to make sure I that I catch up on sleep, because, during the week I’m pretty busy and get only ~4.5-5.5 hrs. sleep, and my body is used this and will wake up early; the sleeping aides made sure I catch up on sleep by letting me sleep longer 
20. Blaze (SAN) – 2 caps/day (AM/PM) – in order to help optimize my “thyroid” hormone output – since these hormones ALWAYS (well, always over the past 2 years) have come out low to very low normal on blood tests.

"History" using Cissus quadrangularis (Cissus Rx)

Okay - I have to get going now, but first I will post my "history" of using Cissus Rx back from August. Later, I will summarize the awesome experience I've had with this product at the beginning of this month (using up the bottle I ordered back in August), as well as the INCREDIBLE effects I've noticed already from my recent order, (which arrived Wednesday), as well as my uncle's results - felt within the 1st day! I already posted this things - between my old Cissus Rx log, as well as on the two threads (which I've listed in my sig), so for those of you who can't wait to read, more about Cissus Rx, I refer to those threads for now; later tonite, I will consolidate that information here.

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=582781
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=630148
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...ghlight=Cissus

My first experience with Cissus Rx was back in August. I was on the Cissus for only ~ 1week... however I literally felt a difference (INCREDIBLE RECOVERY) within my FIRST day on the stuff. While some of you may find this hard to believe, (if you haven't already noticed from my other posts), I am VERY "in-tune" with my body and notice how the slightest things - food, supps, exercise, sitting certain ways, timing of food/supps/exercise etc.) - affect me.

This is part of an exact post that I wrote, in regards to Cissus Rx, back in August (August 19, 2005):

Quote:
i sh!t you not, i felt a difference from the Cissus from Day 1... my recovery is UNBELIEVABLE... not only that, i did not get horribly stiff after my day off from cardio. sometimes my lower back/spine get really achey... the ONE good thing about the estrogen, which i noticed after about 3-4 days on was that it eliminated this soreness/acheyness (which was obviously bone)...

...i am noticing this same effect from the Cissus!!!!!!!!!!!
Unfortunately, after about 1 week on the Cissus, I discontinued use, due to what was more than likely a "bad" coincidence and/or a "placebo effect" (in terms of me feeling like it increased my estrogen levels). I had read, (prior to taking Cissus), that one use of its uses was to treat amenorrhea, (so I had a pre-concieved notion about it possibly increasing estrogen). So... after about a week on the Cissus Rx, when I had a few bad overeating episodes... followed by a mild crampy feeling around where my uterus is - almost like when my doctor put me on estrogen, but not nearly as severe), I "freaked" and thought my overeating had to do with the Cissus, somehow increasing my estrogen. Please note: back in August, when I first tried the Cissus, my overeating episodes were occuring every 3-10 days. So, in otherwords, my overeating, in relation to the Cissus, was more than likely a coincidence. *After my experience in November - during which I used the Cissus for ~2.5-3 weeks, I can say that it has NO estrogenic effects (in terms of it increasing estrogen) - my initial impression, in this regard, was coincidence/placebo... as you will see, the incredible RECOVERY I've experienced was NOT coincidence/placebo.

I will continue later, but again, I want to give thanks/a shout out to Lonny, who sent me a link and some other info about Cissus (which assured me that that my feeling that it had increased my estrogen was flawed). If not for him, I would not have given the Cissus Rx another chance. Lonny - thanks so much again!

Okay, more later guys. For now, pretty much most all the rest of what I am going to post today can already be found in the links I've given ya.

My experience with Cissus Rx, at the beginning of November (when I started using it again, finishing off the bottle I had ordered in back August), was just as incredible as in August. In terms of recovery, I noticed a difference my first day on the stuff! I'll quote my 1st two posts from my old log, because they are an excellent description of how I feel with the Cissus/how it helps me with recovery:

^ i wrote that sometime before my 3rd meal (8:35 PM)... right now (12:25 AM), my legs feel COMPLETELY rested, and if i didn't have work tomorrow, i'd be tempted go back to the gym for a double (since my gym is now open "24-7"... well from 11:00 PM sun thru 10:00 PM sat);

i can't even find words to express the INCREDIBLE recovery and COMPLETE ELIMINATION of tenderness, soreness, stiffness, and even that feeling (that's not pain/soreness) but that "something's not quite right" (almost like when you twist an ankle real bad and it never really feels like it healed completely... or in the case of my hamstring, like the muscle fibers are "streching" when i'm walking - not painful, but definitely a "not quite right feeling"). well, NONE of that. everything is GONE.... WITHOUT EVEN A TRACE.

i feel like i've been granted a wish by a genie in a bottle or something...

Time to begin my log. I'm not going to post the full schedule of my day, in terms of supplements, workouts, and meals - unless anyone would like that information - because I don't think it is revealent.

However, I will say that, in terms of dosing (like I've said before), I'm going start with 8 capsules (4 servings, or 6.4g)/day. For the past sevearl months, I've been eating 4 meals per day; so I plan on taking 2 capsules with each meal, in order to maximize absorption. I will let anyone know if my "dosing regimen" changes.

Well then - let my current Cissus Rx log begin! (Those of you who have read thru the two threads in my sig, bear with me! I'm going to copy/paste some of I've posted in those threads directly into my log because it applies here ).

Wednesday 11/23/05
My Cissus Rx (the first order, of 7 bottles ) arrived Wednesday... and JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME too... gradually since I had run out of my Cissus Rx, which was ~1.5-2.5 weeks earlier, I noticed that my recovery had not been nearly as good... until gradually my recovery was like it was before starting the Cissus. For example, I really like to kick @$$ at the gym during my cardio workouts, so normally (before starting the Cissus), toward Day 5 & Day 6 in a row of cardio, my legs would usually feel a little beat up. Nothing too bad, just the normal "good" kind of tiredness for kicking @$$ at the gym. It wouldn't really effect me, but sometimes, like if I've been working out (cardio) after my 2nd Meal, by Day 5 or 6 of cardio, I'd need to bump up cardio to after my 3rd Meal because I'd need the extra time to recover.

Well, Tuesday I was beat up enough to bump cardio to after meal #3... and on Wednesday, when I attempted to do cardio after meal #2, (so I could go to the gym right after work), I had to call it quits halfway thru... my bad hamstring was not the slightest bit sore/stiff; however, a left glut muscle, that's kinda been nagging me slightly, felt like it wasn't quite recovered. I got off the machine and called my mom to see if the Cissus Rx (that I had ordered the previous Saturday) had arrived.... it had!!!!!!! The hell with finishing cardio (later for that!)... I went home, had my 3rd meal - with 4 caps of Cissus - and (no joke), 45 min after I took the Cissus Rx I got up to get my shoes on, and the "tiredness"/mild stiffness was gone completely! It was time to head back to the gym to finish business!!!

The real test would be whether or not the "tiredness"/mild tightness in that left glut came back during or after "round 2" of cardio... my left glut had been feeling very tired the past few days. Occasionally, since I strained it slightly this past Spring, it gets mildly sore/"tired". Without Cissus, based on how tired that glut felt during my "1st half" of cardio, it would have (definitely) needed a good day off to feel fresh again. Not with Cissus Rx though...

There was NOTHING! No soreness, stiffness, tiredness, tightness, etc...... my legs felt so "fresh" that I could have EASILY gone for (another) 1-2 hrs! It was so surreal! Granted, I was not experiencing any MAJOR soreness/tightness to begin with... but still, like I said before, that left glut was very "tired" and mildly stiff, and normally, (without Cissus), would have taken a good day of rest to feel fresh again. For the tiredness/mild stiffness to go away, that fast... and without a trace, (with the Cissus) was truly impressive.

Thursday 11/24/05

Thursday 11/24/05
This was a day off from the gym. This was my usual day off, in that it occured after Day 6 of cardio, (sometimes I take a day off after 5 days... sometimes I've gone up to 8 days straight of cardio); I try to be consistent and go 6 days on, 1 day off, but sometimes I have to adjust my schedule.

Anyways, usually on my day off from cardio, I'll wake up with my legs still feeling tired (perfect timing for a day off!)... but by around 8:30 PM-12:30 AM (after my 3rd/4th meals), my legs will finally feel refreshed/ready to do cardio; occasionally, if I've REALLY gone at, I won't feel ready until the next morning after my day off....... well, let's just say on the Cissus Rx (despite my legs feeling sorta tired/beat up this week, as I've previously described), I woke up feeling COMPLETEY RESTED! ...feeling as though Day 6 of cardio had been a day off! I still took Thursday off because I believe in letting the body rest/heal up - but believe me, I felt NO tiredness/soreness/stiffness/tightness etc.

Update on other ppl to whom I am giving the Cissus Rx
Thursday morning, I called my uncle, who has actually really gotten into supplements over the past few years, and told him all about the Cissus. I told him mainly for his son (who recently broke his arm playing basketball, and I think injured a few tendons while he was at it ). My uncle was VERY interested in the Cissus for himself as well because he has A LOT of "aches and pains," his primary concern being chronic elbow pain, which he experiences on a daily basis. My uncle told me to bring him up one bottle. When I arrived at his house, he told me that he would share the bottle with his son (my cousin). I did the math and figured, with each of them taking 5 caps/day, it would last them ~2 weeks. Based on many ppl reporting improvements within the first week (and some, like myself, feeling a difference within the first day), I figured a 2 week period would definitely be enough time for my uncle/cousin to decide if the Cissus Rx would help them. My uncle said if it were to work for him, as well as it has for me/others I've told him about, that he would DEFINITELY continue to use it.

Yesterday we had a huge @$$ party at my house and my uncle was over. He came up to me and told me how he's already noticed a difference from the Cissus Rx... within a few hours after taking it!!! He said that the pain in his elbow is not completely gone, but that he noticed "definite relief"... and he's only been on it a day! Imagine how good his elbow will feel after a few weeks of use! I don't blame any of you if you call "placebo" on it - but based on my experience with the Cissus, (as well as some others on here who have noticed differences within the 1st 24-48 hrs. of taking it), and also knowing how "in tune" my uncle is with his body, just like me - I honestly believe that he felt a difference within a few hours after taking it. I mean, after all, since the pain is chronic and always bothers him very much in certain positions, any alleviation would be very noticable. His son (my cousin), who broke his arm ~1.5-2 months ago, and now has pain/soreness when doing certain things, like weighting lifting, has not yet noticed a difference from the Cissus Rx (though it wouldn't be expected that he notice anything yet, since he has not yet done any activities, since starting the Cissus, that cause his arm pain).

Friday 11/25/05
Yesterday was actually a "triple" at the gym - my hour weight workout, my ab routine, and cardio (done in that order). I'm not sure if I've previously mentioned what I am about to describe (and the thread that I thought I had posted it in - where ppl were posting passwords to get the Cissus - has been removed (so I can't go back and look this up). But - sometime after my 2nd week on the Cissus Rx (earlier this month, when I was finishing off the bottle I had ordered in August), my LAST day on the Cissus (before I ran out) was a lifting day. I was in the gym doing my lifting workout and - no joke - felt "the Cissus Pump." I had read about this effect on the leverage tv article
Quote:
THE OTHER SIDE EFFECT IS ANABOLIC!
Cissus is anabolic and anti-catabolic!!! Cissus users report a "PUMP" that we call the Cissus pump. The PUMP effect becomes prevalent at approximately 10-15 days of continous Cissus use. The "PUMP" is due to the increase of blood flow to the muscle. The Cissus pump will have you flexing your muscle for no apparent reason. This is when you know the product has exerted its effect.
http://www.leverage.tv/cissus.htm
but did not really believe this. However, after my first set that day in the gym, I felt like I've never felt before: my muscles felt so extremely "full" and "pumped up"... similar (but much more extreme) to how I felt back when I worked with a bodybuilder trainer when doing forced reps/supersets and lifting "heavy"... I've never experienced that kind of "pumped-up"/"fullness" feeling in my muscles with the endurance type lifting program I am on right now... and NEVER after only my 1st set!

Well, that was my last day on the Cissus Rx before I ran out. I had my usual 2 days off from lifting, and then lifted again (but didn't get that pumped up feeling, and haven't gotten it since)... until yesterday (only my 3rd day back on the Cissus). I was NOT expecting to feel anything, since it was only my 3rd day back (but maybe because I had been off it for only like 2 weeks I was able to get the pump again so soon?); I really don't know; it will be interesting to see what happens, but the feeling is like no other. And yesterday, "the rotation" in my lifting program was biceps first (for me, bis are - HANDS DOWN - the hardest part to get evenly remotely sore (the "good" kinda soreness I'm talking about).... kind of ironic since bis are like my best/most "cut up" body part too. But anyways, the feeling of fullness was so awesome that I actually felt the muscle working, as opposed to feeling like I'm merely "going thru the motion."

Cardio - I blasted thru my workout - legs feeling fresh the entire time! After my workout/post workout meal (meal #3), my legs did get a little tight, like they normally do; however, by the time my 4th meal rolled around, the tightness had completely worn off... and ~30 min after my 4th meal, my legs felt COMPLETELY recharged - like they could EASILY go for another round of cardio. Normally, the ONLY time (if at all) that my legs feel recharged/ready for another cardio workout (on the same day of already having done cardio) is post meal #4... if cardio is done post meal #1 (any later - like post meal #2 or #3 - and it takes a night's rest before I feel rested). Cissus Rx is DEFINITELY helping speed the recovery process!

i ordered 2 bottles from synergy when they were on sale.
bb.com has them in stock and i would have bought some more but the company isn't listed in the drop down menu (not updated yet i guess), so i didn't include any of their products when i made a supp order yesterday.
i started my cissus rx today, so hopefully i'll see as good as or maybe even better results as urs.

Today was just cardio. I did cardio after Meal #1, and, like yesterday, blasted thru my workout, legs feeling fresh the entire time! After my workout/post workout meal (Meal #2), my legs did feel a little tight, but considerably less than they normally do... like 1-2 hrs. after my cardio workout, I felt how I normally feel 6-8 hrs. after cardio (w/o Cissus Rx). Right now (~25 min after my 3rd Meal, and ~6 hrs. after cardio), my legs feel slightly tired still, but the tightness is gone completely! Like yesterday, (and like when I used Cissus Rx eariler this month), the stuff is DEFINITELY helping speed the recovery process!

I will start out this entry by saying: MOTHER F*CKER... i posted that yesterday!?! -->

While this may not sound impressive - considering most ppl I know who haven't run in awhile start out with 20 min - I can usually go no longer than FIVE minutes "safely" (w/o my feeling like I'm risking a tendon/muslce injury in my legs)....... back this past Feb/March of this year, (where I hadn't run consistently in ~1 year, due to a hamstring strain/injury), I LITERALLY had to start by running TWO minutes at a time (and my legs were in such sorry shape - despite my consistency on the elliptical - that it felt like the equivalent of 20 min on my legs). ...and it took a few MONTHS to get to where I could run for 15-20 min. But even then, that old hamstring strain never felt quite right... as I've described before

After a "run" (which was rarely more than 15-20 min), I would almost always get that "stretchy" feeling in the belly of my hamstring. It wasn't painful, but definitely not quite right...

...well, just like at the beginning of this month, not only did I not experience that feeling - neither during, nor after running - I did not experience any tenderness, soreness, or stiffness either! The only thing I've got is that mild tired/tight feeling - that I ALWAYS get after cardio - that I've described in my previous two entries... and (just like yesterday), although I still felt a little tight right now (3 hrs. from finishing cardio and so far only 1 post workout meal), the tightness is MUCH less... right now, I feel how I normally do 8 hrs. after cardio (w/o Cissus Rx).* *Actually, considering the amount that I ran, (after not having run in 3 weeks), it would normally take a few days for me to feel as good as I do right now. Granted, I will most likely experience some delayed onset muscle soreness, which I will report.... but, based on other occasions (where I haven't run in a while and started off with much less - like only 5 mintues) - let me tell you, 3 hrs. after my workout, my legs were in SORRY shape (INTENSE tightness)... vs. now (with the Cissus Rx): mild tightness. This is incredible!!! Even more incredible is how few ppl know about this product... which (based on my experiences, and from what some others have reported on here) is FAR more effective than stuff like Aspirin... (and FAR safer).

I've got 2 words for you ppl: F*CKING AMAZING!!!

Last night, ~5-6 hrs. after cardio, when I got up to go prepare my 4th (final) meal, the tightness was practically gone from my legs!!! Normally (w/o Cissus Rx), when starting back running (after not have run in several weeks), by 5-6 hrs. after my workout, the tightness is EXTREME (even worse than 3 hrs. after). Not the case with the Cissus Rx...

...and that "morning after" tightness/soreness (delayed onset muslce soreness [DOMS]), I felt this morning was only a slight, mild ("good kind of") soreness, (as opposed to severe); and it was all in the quads, (NONE in the hamstrings, which are my problem/injury prone area). Oddly enough, my quads ALWAYS experience DOMS - when coming back to RUNNING - MUCH worse than my hamstrings, (or any other leg muscle). This is VERY strange, considering I've always had very weak hamstrings, (and a few hamstring injuries), but never any quad injuries.

I still can't believe it... right now, the slight DOMS in my quads is GONE completely. Normally (for ME), when coming back to running, (after not having run in several weeks), it would take like 5-6 days to rid myself of the DOMS... sometimes longer... even starting out with only 5 mintues tops; and almost always, my old hamstring injuries would get stiff/sore (in the not so good kind of way). Contrast with Cissus Rx: I start out with 15 min of running (as opposed to only 2-5 min), DOMS is gone 24 hrs. after the my run, and my old hamstring injuries did not get the slightest bit sore, tight, or the "not quite right" feeling! This is truly AMAZING!

As far as my workout for today - I did weights* (* = tris, chest, and shoulders); my trainer has made some DRASTIC changes to my routine - both weights and cardio - which I will post next).

"New Cardio" Routine
Pretty much the same (Intense) 60-62 min as before, consisting of mostly the elliptical, but also starting to ease back into running; the only difference is I will now be doing cardio 4x/week instead of 6. Sun-Tues-Thurs-Sat

"New" Lifting Routine
Time to go back to the "split" routine! (haven't changed things up since August, so I was WAY overdue ). Weights will be done on the off days from cardio (Mon-Wed-Fri), and will consist of 2 workouts: Legs/Back/Bis and Shoulders/Chest/Tris. (So like if one week Legs/Back/Bis are Mon/Fri and Shoulders/Chest/Tris is Wed, then the next week ends up Shoulders/Chest/Tris on Mon/Fri and Legs/Back/Bis on Wed). I will also rotate body parts "within" a workout - so like on Legs/Back/Bis day, if the order is Legs-Back-Bis, then the next Legs/Back/Bis day will be Back-Bis-Legs. With the exception of Legs (which I'm still putting together/trying to decide... since I haven't done legs in >3 yrs. ), I will do 3 sets of 15 reps of 3 different exercises for each body part.

That's about it for now.... so far I have given Cissus Rx to 5 other people: my uncle and cousin, a friend at the gym, and two friends at work. I am eagerly awaiting to hear the improvements these ppl will have with the Cissus, and I will post updates as I hear back from these people.

Well (needless to say with a day off from cardio after only 3 days straight, instead of the usual 6 straight), my legs were feeling pretty rested to begin with... and with Cissus Rx on top of that, you could say my legs were EXTREMELY rested! I must say though, midway thru my workout, I felt a mild, "good kind of soreness" in both of my quads (OBVIOUSLY left over from the running I did on Sunday, since I NEVER get quad soreness from the elliptical, when I have been consistent at it); so aparently I'm not COMPLETELY recovered from Sunday's 15 min. run... but still, the Cissus Rx helped tremendously... like it would take (at least) a week, w/o the Cissus, to rid myself of the DOMS from starting back with 15 min of running... and my hamstrings would definitely be experiencing the "not-so-good" kinda soreness, w/o the Cissus... and speaking of my hamstrings, absoultely NO tightness/soreness/stiffness/"not quite right" feeling!

Right now (~3 hrs. after cardio and 1 hr. after my last Meal... I know, I know, real bad timing - usually I eat way sooner after cardio) <--- but despite all that, my legs feel only a SLIGHT bit tired. Before my meal (and the Cissus Rx), my legs were moderately tight (the "normal" post-workout tightness); however, right now, I feel like I normally do 6-8 hrs. after cardio, as opposed to just under 3 hrs. after!

I was going to run the last 10-15 min of my cardio, but did not want to risk my luck! If my energy levels are good, this Thursday (my next cardio session), I plan on doing another 10-15 min. of running.

Wednesday 11/30/05
Legs felt good and rested today, however, I'll have to see how they feel tomorrow, to determine whether or not I will run at all or just do the elliptical (when writing yesterday's entry, I forgot that today is my 1st day of starting back with legs... after not not having lifted legs in like 3 yrs ). Granted, I started off VERY easy, and did not push things; but even still, I cannot predict how I will feel tomorrow and don't want to risk an injury by running; also, I'm still recovering from a cold and will have a LONG @$$ (~11 hr.) day at work - a lot of which will be spent on my feet (I'm doing this experiment and will be on my feet for AT LEAST four hours for that... also doing a 3 "photo shoot" at work so I will be on my feet a lot for that as well). However, if my legs feel fine after all that, I will definitely do a little running... and I'm most likely going to load up on AMP, Hydroxadrine, or a combination, (to get me thru the 11 hr. work day), so considering that, there is a good chance I may be up for running!

I felt AWESOME today doing legs! I went very lightly - I felt like the muscles were getting a decent workout (from not having lifted in so long), while at the same time feeling like I had the power/strength to go WAY up in weight (which would obviously be stupid at this point). Legs felt mildly tired after I left the gym, but not tight or sore. Right now (~ 1hr. after my postwork out meal, and 1 serv. of Cissus Rx ), legs feel MUCH better (almost completely rested). It will be interesting to see if I get any DOMS, and to what extent.

Thursday 12/1/05

Thursday 12/1/05
All I have to say is WOW! Today I had THE BEST elliptical workout of the ENTIRE year (in terms of intensity - I finished my normal workout in 1 hr 0:44, ~2-3 min faster than normal... with the same (precieved) effort!! Actually, today felt even easier than normal! I'm must admit, a large part of this was AMP (providing the energy)... but Cissus played an equally important part in terms of recovery...

...with the exception of my bad hamstring (specifically the right mid-belly), ALL of my other leg muscles were perfect this morning! They felt mildly tired (like the feeling I sometimes experience after getting DOMS, before feeling completely rested). The right hamstring felt mildly sore (DOMS); but it was weird... like it was "the good kind of soreness"... but at the same time it was "bad" (since it was EXACTLY in the spot of my old injury, and since NO other leg muslce experienced soreness this morning). I did not notice it until after I had been on my feet for ~2 hrs. It did not get much worse the rest of the day, but not much better either, until after my 4th (of 5 meals - today I got in 5 meals ). About 45 min after my 4th Meal (along with 1 serv. Cissus Rx), the soreness was gone... and DID NOT come back... even during my elliptical workout. I must admit though, the complete elimination of the soreness was probably a combination of Cissus Rx and AMP, as I've found (on several occasions) that AMP definitely takes the edge off soreness (and I had 2 caps of AMP ~2 hrs. before my 4th meal).

Right now, the hamstring feels the slightest bit tight (but no soreness ). My other legs muscles are not at all tight, just the slight tired feeling I get after cardio (right now it hasn't even been 3 hrs. from the time I finished cardio).

That's about it for now. I am VERY impressed with my recovery... it will be interesting to see how I feel tomorrow morning... one thing I noticed is that the Cissus Rx I take with my last meal seems to help my recovery into the morning (like I'll wake up much more recovered than normal, w/o Cissus). AMP does not have this effect, (but then again, I've never taken AMP with my last meal ).

cissus and results

I have had good results using the cissus rx. I have had bicep tendonitis in both arms. The pain in one arm is completely gone and pain in the other is minimal now. I gave a bottle to a friend of mine who is not a bodybuilder but a tennis player who plays like 4 days a week. He has tendonitis in his elbow and I am waiting to see if he feels anything. I felt results withing a couple of weeks so I am curious to see if and when he gets relief.

(If I did 1 hour and 44 min of cardio, that would be 1hr. 44:00... or 1:44:00); my record (all at once) on the elliptical was (I believe) 93 mintues. I'll have to look back at my training log. It was a memorable day (my 22nd b-day!)... so I had to do something special

Not much to report today as far as today's workout, considering it was an off day from cardio, and weights were tris/shoulders/chest (no legs, which is my problem area); but, (in terms of recovery from yesterday's workout), Cissus Rx was - in my famous words - "F*CKING AWESOME!" I woke up and my legs felt mildly tired. That is all... after yesterday's "killer cardio" session - my most intense cardio workout of the year (see post #18 of this thread for details) - my legs were only "mildly tired" this morning. NO soreness/tightness/stiffness/"not quite right" feeling... just 'mild tiredness' (which, btw, wore off completely by early afternoon)! Seriously, my legs would have felt trashed/sore for (AT LEAST) a day/two, w/o the Cissus Rx.

Saturday 12/3/05 & Sunday 12/4/05

Saturday 12/3/05
Well, as I said on Friday, I was completely recovered by Friday afternoon from tearin' it up during cardio on Thursday... and with Friday being neither a cardio day, nor a legs day, I was so well rested on Saturday that I HARDLY experienced any post-workout tightness/mild tiredness that I normally get. I literally could have gone for 2-3 hours of cardio (but as it is, I barely got my hour in before the gym closed, due to sleeping sorta late ).

Sunday 12/4/05
AWESOME! I ran again (just 10 min this time since I haven't run since last Sunday, and cuz tomorrow is a legs day and I didn't want to overdue things)... but I felt AWESOME - like my legs had the strength to keep going (at my EASY pace of 7:03/mi ) forever! The best part of all this that (just like last week when I ran) I did not experience any tenderness/soreness/stiffness/"not quite right" feeling! The only thing I've got is that mild tired/tight feeling - that I ALWAYS get after cardio. Again, right now (> 3 hrs. from when I finished cardio), I feel as good as I normally would (w/o Cissus Rx) 6-8 hrs!

Monday 12/5/05
Wow... I've got to be more thankful... I am really taking the Cissus Rx for granted... like it did not even occur to me until just now that I was not even the slightest sore/tight/stiff this morning... the morning after running!!! (unlike the previous week, the day after I had run (post #13) <--- and even that was extremely mild)...

...my legs actually would have been up for a good hard cardio session today (had my energy levels not been shot to hell)..... but even still, I had an AWESOME lifting workout (legs-bis-back). Of the 6 leg exercises I did, I increased the number of sets from 2 to 3 for four of the six exercises... weight either increased or stayed the same. (Considering I haven't done legs in ~3 yrs), I'm like a beginner all over again, so I will see big improvements in a short time; this is expected; but even more impressive is my recovery - my legs feel even better (more recovered) than after my first leg workout (last week)... yet I did more sets and went up in weight for some of the exercises. It will be interesting to see what kind ("good" vs. "not so good" ) of soreness I get tomorrow... if any.

Tuesday 12/6/05
In my classic words - "F*CKING AWESOME!"

I had a bit of DOMS today from yesterday's leg workout (as well as some real nice, "good kinda soreness," in my bis/back)... but, absolutely NO DOMS in either of my hamstrings!!! Even my bad hamstring did not even get sore/tight/stiff/the 'not quite right feeling'! This was truly impressive. Quads, hamstring, and calves all had a mild "tired" feeling - like the feeling I'll usually get after soreness/tightness/stiffness wears off; but it was so mild that a 'normal person'/someone less in tune with their body wouldn't have even noticed. Most of my DOMS was in my adductors, and some in the hip flexors as well. It was the "good kind of soreness," and although my legs felt sorta tired during cardio, I still did ~1 hr, (I just cut down on the intensity). Legs actually felt better after cardio (probably cuz it helped flush the lactic acid out). Regardless, my recover was AWESOME (just like in good old '98). Cissus Rx is definitely making a huge difference!

Update on other ppl I have given Cissus Rx
So far I have given Cissus Rx to 6 other people: my uncle and cousin, two friends at the gym, and two friends at work.

My uncle and cousin - I have not been in touch with since the day after Thanksgiving. However, just to refresh - my uncle (who was interested in the Cissus Rx for his 'aches/pains,' his primary concern being chronic elbow pain - felt a difference (improvement in his elbow) within the first few hrs. after taking the Cissus Rx. This is not surprising, considering the pain was pretty bad (so any improvements would be more noticable). His son (my cousin) had not noticed a difference (within the 1st 24-48 hrs.)... then again my cousin (who was taking Cissus Rx because he recently broke his arm playing basketball/injured a few tendons as well), was not in any pain/soreness, expect when doing certain things (like weightlifiting), which he had not yet done, since starting the Cissus Rx.

Friend #1 at gym & Friend #2 at work - last time I asked (~ a few days after giving them the Cissus Rx) neither had started taking it. I asked them what they were waiting for, and both agreed to start. I will be in touch with them shortly.

Friend #1 at work - started taking the Cissus Rx last Monday, 11/28/05, when I gave it to her. I told her to take AT LEAST 6 caps = 3.66g/day, (since hers is the older version w/ only 1.22 g/2 cap serv.). This past Friday, when asked her if she felt a difference, she said "nothing yet..." but then I asked how much she was taking, and she said "2 caps/DAY." I reemphasized that she should take AT LEAST 6 caps (=3.66grams)/day. Monday (12/5/05)she took 4 caps, (still only 2.44g) and this afternoon she told me that she felt a "definite difference" (much less soreness than usual) when she got out of bed this morning, which is when she usually feels most sore. Again, I told her to take AT LEAST 6 caps/day to give the Cissus Rx a fair test. Again, she said "okay." Hopefully this time she will listen; I think she will... she was pretty excited about how good she felt today after the 4 caps she had yesterday.

Friend #2 at the gym - this friend is one who is actually really into supplements, but laughed when I told him about Cissus Rx, as in "no way... it can't be that good... can it?" But coming from me, (since he, like many of my friends, knows that I research my supps thoroughly ), really considered what I had to say. He usually recovers from workouts pretty well, but said that he would be interested in trying some Cissus Rx, if needed. This was ~2 weeks ago. However, today when I got to the gym, he's like, "we gotta talk..." Apparently, (he doesn't know why) he feels like his joints are not recovering from his workouts, as they normally do, and he wants to try the Cissus Rx to see if it will help him. I did not have any bottles with me, but I gave him the four caps (2 servings worth) that I had on me. Tomorrow I am bringing him a bottle. He is another one of those ppl that's very 'in tune' with his body, so I am interested to see how long it will take before he notices improvements.

Wednesday 12/7/05, Thursday 12/8/05, and Friday 12/9/05

First off, I must apologize for being late with my entries. I've been so busy to begin with... but I've been battling a lot of fatigue lately (which is NOT due to the Cissus), but based on past experience a combination of the decreased cardio AND an significant increase in body fat.

Anyways, the fatigue doesn't concern me. After being bedridden since early Wednesday evening, all of today up until now, and most of Thursday, with the exception of my workout, I decided it was quite appropriate to use 1/3 of a can of Redline to remedy things. Now, time to catch up on all the stuff I've had to do, which includes updating this log!

Wednesday 12/7/05
This was a day off from cardio, and my workout was the "easier" (no legs) of my 2 lifting workouts, which included chest/tris/shoulders. However, my legs did not feel at all tired; amazing, considering that I pushed myself considerably more than my leg workout the previous week compared to this past Monday); and I felt that the legs would have held up quite nicely, had I done cardio on Wednesday.

Thursday 12/8/05
Needless to say, the legs were quite fresh for Thursday nite's cardio session... which (like last Thursday) I absolutely destroyed!!! I'll have to compare times, but off the top of my head, I believe yesterday's cardio was the 2nd best of the year!!! (The best being last Thursday)... and in terms of the level, it WAS the best. *I did level 6 for 40 min, before coming down to level 5, on the elliptical.

*You cannot compare my level on the elliptical to your workouts. It is completely irrevelant - like, I've been to over 10 gyms/fitness centers in the past few years with the SAME model of ellipitcal (EFX - 546 I think it is) and, because of different calibration, I've found that my average level, for my normal intensity workout, varies depending on the gym (and even at the same gym, depending on which elliptical I use!).

But anyways, the particular elliptical I was on last night is the one I always use (unless it's taken, which isn't often). Normally, I do level 5 (and never less than level 5). In the Spring, when I had more energy (before I went on the estrogen and before my eating went "whack"), I'd do level 6 for ~20 min, 30 min tops, before coming down to level 5 for the rest of my workout. Then, after I gained a bit of weight and my energy levels went to hell, I haven't been able to do level 6, even for 5 min (until starting the stims )... but even still, 20 min tops (maybe once I was lucky to do 30). Many times, if when I had enough energy (courteosy of the stims), my recovery was too sh!tty to "risk" giving up a day of cardio to let my legs rest by upping the level. Well, yesterday I did level 6 for a full 40 min, before backing down to level 5 for the remainder of my workout, and this morning I feel 100% recovered... like I can do that workout again today, if I wanted. Absolutely incredible recovery, and definitely from the Cissus Rx!!!

Friday 12/9/05
Legs are completely recovered, as I've just said, and I'm ready to go hammer my legs/back/bis workout........ unfortunately I may not even get to the gym today, courteosy of a huge @$$ snowstorm (parents won't let me take the car, which belongs to them, out). I've already checked and the gym is open too. I'm about to have a meal anyways, in like 1.5-2 hrs, so I wouldn't be working out before then, but this "gym" (fitness club) a .5 mile from my house. I'm thinking that, provided this place didn't close early, I will walk over there and pay the $20 to get my lifting workout in........

......well, luckily the snow stopped and the roads got plowed so I was able to go to my gym and have a KICK @$$ workout. For most of the leg exercises, I went up in weights for 2 exericese, from the last leg workout, and ALL of my leg exercises still felt sorta easy (but I still restrained myself from increasing the weights more, and/or doing more reps, cuz the last thing I want is to come back too fast and get injured). The most amazing thing is, after this workout (my 3rd leg workout back), I feel the best recovered. Legs are just slightly tired right now. I will definitely be ready for a cardio session by tomorrow morning!

Update on other ppl I have given Cissus Rx
Friend #2 at the gym (see post #26 for full details): Tuesday I had given him 2 servings of Cissus Rx for joint pain. I didn't see him again until today, but he says he thinks he noticed some improvement from the Cissus Rx... but then he tells me it's hard to say for sure, since he also took IBprofin (sp?) Today I gave him a full bottle of the Cissus Rx, which he will start tomorrow. He plans on taking 2 servings (4 caps)/day. I see him a lot, since he works at the gym, so I should be able to post updates often.

Haven't had a chance to talk to anyone else yet, but will update when I do.

Saturday 12/10/05, Sunday 12/11/05, Monday 12/13/05, Tuesday 12/14/05

First of - For all you ppl actually following my log, I'm so sorry for lack of updates... things have been absolutely CRAZY (good but crazy/busy)... last 2 nites I got to bed after 3 AM and woke up just after 7.

Anyways, I'm actually thinking of wrapping up this log, as far as my updates (since nothing much has changed): basically INCREDIBLE recovery*! But I will continue to answer any questions that anyone might have, as well as continue with updates on ppl to whom I have given the Cissus.
*this past week recovery wasn't quite as good........... but, considering this past week was a double (Mon and Fri) for legs (and Sun-Tues-Thurs-Sat cardio), it was a much harder week on the legs than the previous week.

Saturday 12/10/05
Legs felt recovered going into the workout (cardio), but felt moderately tired toward the 2/3-3/4 mark, but nothing major....... and the tiredness which occured in 2 main places (left outer upper hamstring and inner right hamstring directly behind the knee) were NOT old "problem areas" (it was more or less an intense good kind of soreness). Although I went for my normal 60-65 min, I went easy on the legs (lower intensity). After Saturday's cardio, recovery was not as good (fast) as usual, but still pretty awesome considering the circumstances. Anothing thing is that I like to take AT least 24 hrs. after a leg workout before cardio on the next day. Due to other committments, I finished my leg workout at 6:30 PM Friday and started cardio at 1:30 Saturday (a few meals sooner that I would have liked).

Sunday 12/11/05
This was also a cardio day, and the legs actually felt slightly tired and slightly sore when I woke up (the soreness was only in the 2 areas that I described above, NOT in my old "problem areas"). By the time I started cardio, legs were feeling better, but by 20-30 min felt pretty tired and sore... and by 50 min, I was in "bad shape" (almost holding my left hamstring to finish). I made myself finish because I DID not feel like I was risking an injury... just felt like a REAL intense version of the "good kind of soreness" that one must work thru to get stronger (like the "stress and adaptation principle"). I'm very in-tune with my body and WOULD not have pushed myself, had I felt like I was risking an injury. I did feel sore enough though to take 10 Cissus Rx (total) on Sunday.

Monday 12/12/05
Off day for legs (no cardio, and no lifting legs); just did shoulders/chest/tris (and abs). The soreness in the legs was still there though, when I woke up, and my legs felt pretty tired; however, but the end of the day I was feeling almost back to normal, and by the next morning, ready to do cardio. This is absolutely amazing....... the last time my legs got as sore as the did Sunday nite, I ended up taking nearly a week off to recover!!!!!!!!

Tuesday 12/13/05
(Cardio day). I felt very much how I felt on Saturday, but more rested.... like, legs got sorta tired 2/3-3/4 of the way thru, but MUCH less so than on Saturday, and at the end of my cardio, my legs hardly felt tired. However, I sort of f*cked things up for myself... legs (and energy level) have felt so good that after my post cardio meal (I still had one meal left for the day), I was talking online to a friend, lost track of time, and was a full HOUR late for my last meal. This was NOT intended. My muscles felt VERY crampy/tight as a result, when I finally got up, but NOT sore. By this morning I was fine.

That's all the time I have for now... got a few small updates on other ppl, but gotta go. I will post more later.
