Heres a way to increase your protein synthesis to as much as 300%. After workouts, you want to consume some food to have amino acids ready for protein synthesis. Many people's post-workout meals are sufficient, though some of them do not promote protein synthesis to it's full potential. The key is insulin. You want your insulin levels to be high after your workout to help with protein synthesis because insulin draws carbohydrate, fatty acids, and amino acids into the cell, so the more insulin you have, the more nutrient will be taken into the cell. If you were to ingest a fruit drink (carbohydrate source) that will trigger a good amount of insulin to be released and help with synthesis. That is why you should eat carbs after a workout. Next, you need a good protein source to supply your body with amino acids, which will be used in protein synthesis. Though you have increased your insulin levels with carbs, it is not enough to fully increase synthesis of protein to around 300%. Many bodybuilders inject insulin to boost the absorption of nutrients into the cell. With this combination, protein synthesis could be increased to 300%. There are many risks involved with injecting insulin to a non-diabetic. If you were to increase your insulin too much, without eating a good amount of carbohydrate, you could easy become hypoglycemic which could cause terrible damage to your body, leading up to a coma. Since insulin draws glucose from the blood, too much insulin will draw almost all the glucose from the blood if there is no glucose coming from the foods you eat. With barely no glucose in your blood, the cells in the brain start to disfunction without the supply of glucose. If this were to continue, you will fall into a coma within 20 minutes or so. This has been tested with a fish where it was put into a solution containing insulin. Insulin was absorbed into the body and drew glucose from the blood, and since there was no external glucose entering the body, within 5 minutes, erratic swimming pattens started to occur, and after 20 minutes has past, the fish fell into a coma. After this occured, it was placed into a solution containing glucose and within 15 minutes, the fish was back to normal. In conclusion, the boost of insulin after a workout will increase the rate of protein synthesis as much as 300% but adequate amounts of carbohydrates need to be eaten to sustain the level of glucose present in the bloodstream.

Youre an idiot!
Fancy coming on here and advocating injecting insulin.
Want to increase protein synthesis by 270%...easy!
Take a preworkout shake consisting of simple carbs and protein. By the end of your workout, AA levels within the muscle have increased by 270% over a PWO shake only. You gotta love how sports will f*ck with ya, make you believe you can come back from an insurmountable deficit and then get kicked right in the nuts when you're almost there - Bluntdogg

Since you seem to be quite interested in this stuff AppleSauce, do a search on IGF-1. I'm sure you'd fine tons of interesting info. It's neat stuff. Much better than injecting insulin.History: Mar, 2001: 135lbs @ ~14% | Nov, 2004: 245lbs @ ~40% | Dec, 2006: 168lbs @ 5.5%ish | Nov, 2008: 177lbs @ 5.5%ish | Dec, 2016: 179lbs

I'm not promoting the injection of insulin, I'm just stating that it will increase protein synthesis. You can take the infomation to heart of just discard it. Some bodybuilders do it and some people do not know why, my post was the answer to that. And sorry about the big paragraph, i'll break it up next time.
