pretty much the whole core, but especially abs. A lot of people do it incorrectly, here are some incorrect examples of what happens when you have some core strength but not a lot. the way this guy does it makes them extremely easy and they are just...tiring to say the least:

they do ab **** too, but it's an "awareness" of your body type of thing..but they are harder than they look. I have done 150 lbs like that before and you better have a good mat for it.
anyway, they are harder than they look..but unless you're into parkour or anything where you need to be aware of your body, i wouldn't recommend them.

I definitely want to start doing direct biceps work...at least 3 solid sets of barbell or hammer curls at the end of my workout, but until I catch my shoulders and legs up to the rest of my body I'll look rediculous with bigger arms.
Back in high school I really hit the flat barbell bench and curls hard and had a big lower/middle chest and huge arms for my size, but looking back I realize it looked pretty dumb. I definitely do triceps though as I need to catch that area up a bit, but I appreciate a well rounded physique much more than "hooge dam gunnz!"6'3"

Not saying one shouldn't do arm work, but I hardly do direct arm work and I would say my arms have been in proportion, if not "big" for my weight, from the last few years of dips, close grip press and close grip chins... plus other presses and back work of course.
Again, whatever floats your boat and some curls and extensions can't hurt, but I rather do a set or two of curls at the end of a workout then waste much of my time and energy on iso stuff. Too many people around here design their routine around iso exercises. They'll have one back exercise like lat pulldowns and 5 types of curls
