Lingering injuries or just soreness from (I'm assuming, if I'm wrong let me know) not playing that very often?
Some friends and I used to do that every weekend. We could bounce back quite quickly when we were 13-16 but after that, we started gettiing too big and people started getting hurt fairly badly. Some epic games we had though. Race to 100 in the unofficial rich kids vs blue collar kids game was quite the event. There was even a crowd of like 45-50 people.

I did that a few times. Last time i played i woke up 20 minutes after i got hit, face down in the grass with blood everyone. Head to head collisions are bad.

Maybe a week? RICE it and see how it goes. Was this today or yesterday? Give it some more time then go from there. Stretch and do some active rest as well as the RICE.
Running too fast into people shouldnt be the problem. If you hit them harder (correctly) than they hit you, they should absorb the impact. Lower your shoulder and plow them over.

Gee, we have a game over here called Rugby League where people do that every week for 80 minute games!

Definitely RICE for the injuries, but also worth a trip to doctor. Can be a couple of nasties. Neck pain is not good if it is still there. Can you fully move your pinky? The science is out there!
