Been 5 weeks now since i started cutting seriously.
My 'Cheat' day has always been Saturday.
First Cheat day, was looking forward to it all week, it was the only thing keeping me sane ! I had my favourite Pasta for a couple of meals, 3-4 of my favourite soft drink (lemon lime and bitters) and some chocolate.
Second Cheat day, i had already lost the craving for sweet stuff, but i do like my Japanese food and i figured it was a bit healthier for cheat food, so i had a few really nice meals of chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu. Thing was, the helpings i had which were 'normal' for me before now made me almost throw up since my stomach had shrunk from eating smaller meals more often.
Third Cheat day, i enjoyed some nice indian food
Now by the fourth cheat day, seriously i had run out of things i craved, I opted to goto this place which cooked very nice 'home style' cooking and had some grilled fish, a beef and chicken steak (spread throughout the day).
This last Cheat day, the only think i substituted from my normal eating is having some nice lean roast beef instead of chicken breast (and i weighed the amount of beef i ate). MY cheat days from now on are definitely going to be more scientific, i am going to count the calories and make them only 500-600 above maintenance, with basically the same diet as i eat through the week except for some 'cheat meats'.
My smaller stomach means i am hardly ever hungry even whilst eating under maintenance, i seriously struggle eating my 1800 calories a day. My body doesn't seem to have any outrageous cravings anymore.
Now all of my cheat days i feel did me no harm. From Saturday morning to saturday morning each week (when i do my measurements), i have been making great progress. But because i want to take things to the next level again to get my 15-16% BF down to sub 10%, i am going to make my cheat a refeed day.
Xmas day will be my next 'cheat day'
Anyone else have this experience with their cheat day ?

Hahaha, yeah, it's always an ongoing process of taking it the next level over and over. Every couple months my diet steps up a level. My cheats started off being garbage but now for example all I had was wholegrain bread instead of sprouted grain bread, a little margarine and one chocolate turtle. It's sad that that's my cheat day but seriously I didn't really care one way or the other.

I always leave my saturday's open to cheating if I really want to, because they are my most active days of the week. After my crew practice the team would all hit up the buffet on campus and I would load up because I would try to get out surfing afterwords. Even though it was a cheat day I would still get mad at eating junky foods like homefries and biscuits. Now my cheat day consists of a few extra servings here and there of better carbs for the engergy that I need.
Stop worrying so much about overtraining. Worry about undereating and under-resting. If it works keep it up. If it doesn't, get rid of it. Compound lifts rule. So does unprocessed food.
With milk at $5 a gallon how do some of you afford so many useless supps?
