New Mom Trying To Become a Hottie Again!
I'm sure you ladies out there can relate with and expanded butt, a stomach that hasn't quite reverted totally back to normal yet, and pretty much general enlargement everywhere.
Okay, so I've finally gotten the courage to post some piccys to take some advice from those who have been there. I'm now at the point where my son is on a decent-enough schedule where I can start lifting regularly again after 3 months. I've been eating healthy and following the Body For Life diet and drinking protein shakes and I've lost 15+ lbs. since my son was born.
Now, I'm ready to get my butt in gear and tone it back up. I don't know if I have what it takes to compete in fitness competitions, but I'd really love to. So, I'm asking you for your tips and encouragement to get me on the path to a new me. I've felt like crap about myself for months because I felt like I was drowning under 20 lbs. of flab, but I've lost most of it and am starting to feel back to my old self again. Well, my old self, but with some serious boobage that I never had before (lol).
I'll post my latest pics now...and I do have some from when I first started getting into fitness before the baby...and even one from when I was pregnant and competed in a pregnant bikini contest for laughs (because I have a nutjob sense of humor like that!). Maybe I'll add those later for fun.
Thanks in advance for the advice & encouragement and best of body & health to all of you!
A MILF in training

It doesn't look like you recently had a baby from looking at your pictures, you've done a good job getting back in shape. MILF in training? Looks like you are already there to me. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll reach your goals.

More photos for fun
One of the pregnant bikini contest...I was in my 7th month and had a serious double chin going on. Also 3 before the baby where I was a little toned, but not quite fitness level yet. Then one that makes me cringe every time I see it - I can't believe that's my face. I had "pregnant head" going on - my face became fat with the rest of my body! The only place I didn't gain fat was my forearms. Weird.

If I was "fishing for comments", I'd be posting on Hot or Not, not here! lol
I am fishing for serious advice, though, from women who've been there. I've worked damn hard to get where I'm at. However, I need advice on gaining muscle and toning up. I don't think I look bad for just having a kid, but I would like more of a fitness build, not a skinny-fat woman build.

It's a shame that I can't get any SERIOUS comments in this place from people who are into fitness, not from perverts trying to make someone feel like sh*t because they ask for help. Should I have posted this under the fitness thread instead?

Dude, no harm done...I totally see you meant it as a compliment and I took it for you being a jackass. I'm actually a pretty cool chick once you get to know me. Not a stuck-up bitch who demands people look at her. Hell - I just lost 23 lbs. in 3 months and I'm just excited. Forgive my overzealousness! :-)

good job with the loss of your weight
what are your plans in respect to weight lifting?
looking at your before pictures, vs your now pics, I agree with the above you need to up your Cardio. is your goal to look like you did? anything you didn't like that you wish to change?
if you are strapped for time, Elastic and body weight exercises might be a good idea, you can do when you put your son down for a nap.
Hindu Squats
Push ups,
Dips off of a chair
Sit ups,
Leg raises.
lateral leg raises
lunges.
all things you can do with just your body ( and a chair for dips) if you are able to get to a gym or have weights, you can probably make a much more comprehensive program toward toning.

I remember when after my wife had our son, she was expecting to be back to her "normal" self immediately after, but of course that's not the way it works. It seems like you know what to do to get into shape and have already been working towards that. Remember that it took 9 months to get to the point you were right before having your baby, so you shouldn't expect to get back to "normal" overnight. Don't get discouraged, you can achieve you goals.
And don't mind all the negative comments. For some reason if a guy that is really ripped posts pics he gets props, and everytime a girl that looks good posts pics, she is "fishing for compliments."
This is why so few women will actually post in this forum and they usually end up sticking to the Female forums, which is ashame, but so it is.
Good luck with your goals and with your baby!

Congratulations on having a baby. My wife and I just had our first child back in August, so she can totally relate. She is working towards toning up and adding some muscle too. You've done a great job droppinb the baby weight...now it's time to hit the weights and check your food intake.
The good news is that you've been there before, so it won't be as hard the second time around once you get into action. Make sure you are taking in the right amount of calories and the right split of carbs, protein, and fat to fuel your workouts (sounds like you've got a handle on this following Body 4 Life). Since you will be strapped for time with a baby, I would suggest intense interval training so you can knock it out in 30 minutes.
Good luck with everything and keep us posted.

Why everyone's telling you to cut calories & do cardio right off the bat is far beyond me.
Hit the weights, keep the calories steady. Screw the calorie cutting crap, focus on exercise while keeping the food choices clean for the most part. You're pretty ectomorphic, but over time your body will take to a well-rounded weight training regimen really nicely for a feminine/muscular look. Add cardio if your progress stalls, I'd keep it to a minimum if I were you. Don't shoot for more than 2% drop in BF per month. Go by what the mirror & clothes are telling you rather than by the scale. And don't forget to keep dairy in your diet.
You don't have far to go at all towards certified Milfhood, no need to crash towards the goal. Best of luck.

Ding ding ding!
If you want to add muscle, you're not going to do that by cutting calories. Get a good diet in order. Personally, I would suggest going on a sort of clean bulk. If you want to "tone up" you're going to have to add muscle to your frame first, THEN you can worry about becoming leaner (or "toned" as you like to call it). If you follow alan aragon's advice and just eat healthy and NOT cut calories and follow a good weight lifting regimen, I'm sure you'll see the results you want. Good luck.

Yep..good luck on your journey. I'd suggest a supplement to you to help you lean bulk or cut down the few extra pounds, but I think you are at a point you want to add some mass...I'd suggest SesaThin

Do some cardio and some crunches.. Get you a good diet...
Do cardio when you first wake up in the mornings with a good breakfast afterwards.. Egg Whites/Fruit etc.... Just do some searches on the diet section of this website..
It won't take you long to cut off the stomach area and tone the legs down..
Also do the stepper.... Get the legs and butt section in check....
Just hit the gym and get you a good deit and you will be back on track in no time

I wanted to thank you guys for the advice...that was exactly what I was wondering - whether I set my objectives to cutting the fat or to building muscle or both.
I have always had an ectomorphic build so losing fat is new to me. It's a different game then what it was before the baby and I've been a little confused on how to start. Trust me, I'm taking notes here...trying to learn from the best and not be ashamed to ask for help!
