Just curious. Like, say for example, if I did 50 situps and 50 pushups 4-5 nights a week along with some other ab work, ab twists, etc(don't know the technical name, the situps where you twist and touch your knee with opposite elbow), roughly how many calories would I burn? Thinking about doing it to supplement my cardio.

Calisthenics burns a great deal of calories.
Some one your size would burn close to a 1200 calories with vigorous effort consistently for an hour.
now.. lets see... 50 sit ups and 50 push ups..
takes roughly 3 minutes each...
I would say a couple of hundred calories.. around 100-150 calories
Also you must factor muscle obtained(which would burn more calories throughout the day)
the exercise itself doesn't burn that much but the stretch and movement itself will tone and endure lasting effects later on..
hope that helps..
good luck!take the good with the bad.

From what I have found it depends on your bodyweight, age, etc. but a very rough guideline was that light effort Calisthenics at about 541 cal per hour and if it was an intense session then about 960 calories per hour (based on a 265 pound male). Intense session would be gasping for breath, heart racing and unable to speak more than a couple words at a time.
I Can't and I'm Tired never accomplished anything.
