I agree that skulls are a bit overrated but worthless? That's a bit of a stretch, you can do far worse on the tris (kickbacks, for example)
As for me, I would say that pec deck flyes are the most overrated. I just don't see the point in doing them when your bench press and dip variations on the different planes (incline, decline, flat) do everything that the pec deck does and a whole lot more. They see indoctrination and they call it "morality", "professionalism", or "maturity" depending on the context.

dont get me wrong,i love bench press, but what does every one ask when you tell them you lift weights?how much do you bench?i can think of 10 different excercises i use for my chest.i still think my flat bench is my favourite excersise, but its the most well know and overrated, you dont need bench for a big chest, though it sure helps.

For me:
Bench Press- I prefer DBs over BB.
no shoulder pain whatsoever and I have made the most gains switching over. Can't lift as much probably, but the chest is growing way more than before.
Deadlift- I prefer Rack pulls
no more fear of bad form and I can rack the weight up much more than I can on DLs to work my entire back, including traps and hamstring and grip.
Squats- none. Used to squat, haven't in 4 months and leg hasn't shrunk and still making gains in my upper body (GASP is that really possible???)
Running usually does the trick. Or the bicycle. I'm not trying to get monster legs anyway.TYIA

In my gym preacher curls....everyone does preacher curls....its the first exercise for alot of these monkeys. I dont think Yates/cheat Rows are very useful unless you've built up a huge base in normal Pendlay or bent over Rows.....I see tonnes of 160 lb kids cheating horribly on rows with small weight that they could be repping properly if only they took 6-9 months out to actually perform strict rows.
Gotta walk before you can crawl.
Quarter or half squats on a smith machine are overatted because you are better off just leg-pressing.
Anyone saying "bench press" has a misunderstanding of what the bench press is supposed to do for your body.
It isnt a movement meant to isolate the pecs...its an overall mass builder for the upper body and does a good job at it working the triceps/shoulders/pecs and even lats at heavy poundages and adding size to your physique.
I dont think its even 1/3rd as important as squatting but the group-think on BB.com is strong and for some reason benching is now on the "hated" list on here...curiously I find most of the people who hate to bench and think its worthless are the same people who seem to have light poundages in the bench and who struggle in it relative to other lifts....curious indeed.
I haven't performed a Bench press for the last 3 months for the record.
