    new workout plan recommendations...

    hi, i am looking for advice for a new workout routine. currently, i work chest, back, and shoulders monday and thursday. on tuesday and friday i work abs, legs, triceps,and biceps. i take wed., sat, and sun. off. im basically lookin to up my bench and get a lil bigger at the same time. im 19 years old and currently weigh about 135 pounds and my max bench is about 215. do you suggest i change my workout somehow or just stick with what im already doin?? appreciate the feedback

    Your biceps and triceps are getting hit 4 times per week. That's too much.

    Check out the single-factor variation of Bill Starr's 5x5 routine. Bill Starr is a well-known and respected coach, and his program has been used for years to add strength and mass. Lots of guys are on that right now, including myself.

    If you'd rather stay with 4 days per week, try Chad Waterbury's "Big Boy Basics" or "Anti-Bodybuilding Hypertrophy." They're both fantastic routines, and also written by a top strength coach. Several guys on this board are on ABBH right now. I've done both of these routines in the past and they're very solid.
