I'm a bit hyped about the xbox since it's just around the corner. But at the same time I'm totally unhyped cause it won't make Australian christmas, so nobody'll go halvies with me for it, and I won't have any gift vouchers to put towards it....
I'll have to say ps3, sony hasn't steered me wrong yet.

Yup--rumor has it or is that confirmed? If it is I hope they strip all the useless extras off it and just give us a gaming consel and not a dang multi-media center.

They will all have the same basic hardware anyway. Only difference is the case, controllers and game developing companies. Although the 360 DOES have Halo 3.

We just got our 360 set up at work today, and I must say that I was really dissappointed. The graphics seemed just like a high resolution version of the current XBox. Then again, the only playable demo that we got was King Kong and the rest were just videos.
The 360 I think is going to have a hard time launching, they don't really have a "mega-app" that's being released with the console. I guess the closes would be the new DOA, but I don't know if that is a launch title.

I'm thinking Xbox 360 right now. All that E3 stuff that the PS3 showed were basically videos and not actual gameplay. I'm very anti-Sony (videogame system-wise) after the PS2 came out. BUT, if the PS3 has high definition dvd capabilities and the Xbox 360 does not come out with an upgrade for hd dvd, I will be getting the PS3. If the Revolution is $150 or less I will pick that one up also.
Where is all this information coming from that PS3 is more powerful than Xbox 360? This argument has been done before and goes nowhere since both sides can pull links for thier respective system.
*side note* The Nintendo Revolution will only be bckwards compatible with Nintendo made games. Heck, you can just download those old Nintendo games on your computer and play right now if you wanted too (with the exception of Gamecube and a few N64 games)...

Uh, it's backwards compatible with Gamecube disks. It won't accept cartridges. Unless you're talking about the ability to download old games, where the fact that you can use emulators is true for games made by any developer, so I don't see your point.

Thats next generation for you. There isn't a huge jump unless you have the top of the line 1080p TV that costs several thousand dollars. Otherwise, the graphics of PS3 and Xbox 360 aren't going to impress.
PS3 and Xbox 360's graphics are pretty much the same. EA says that PS3's graphics is marginally better but its not enough to notice a difference. Yet some developers, like the guy behind Doom and Quake says Xbox 360 is better in graphics. So the truth is, if you are basing your decision on graphics, both are your best bet.
At this point, I'd just say PS3.
However both will be expensive and the games so far in development are just the same old **** with a shiny new coat of paint.
