Not sure how that variation would help. I sometimes bring the weight in when it's getting heavy the last couple reps. Probably can't hurt you and if you try it and like it go for it I guess.

Those exercises are great if you adhere to control (which you should anyways.) It is just a coincidence that the curling looks like a chaotic composite lift but in reality its showing the stretch that can be achieved.
My 2 cents.2014 Misc Raw Bench Press Contest winner in the 276lb+ 555lb lift @ ~280lbs
2014 Obtained goal of 600+ raw bench press. Shoulder also hates me.
2015 Lost 110 lbs and currently enjoy being healthy. Retired heavy bench press.
