In bulking, we gain muscle mass (and some fat) because of food or weights
In bulking, we gain muscle mass (and some fat) because of
1. we r eating more food for muscle to grow?
2. we r lifting heavier (???)
3. other reasons?

It's all intercorrelated.

intercorrelated. OK.
So, in cutting, we lose fat (and some muscle mass) because
1. we eat less so fat is losing
2. we lift lighter??

#1 again. I wouldn't recommend lifting lighter during a cut.
IMO, a successful cut is one in which strength is gained and extremely little if any muscle is lost while bodyfat levels drop.

Yes, definitely that is a ideal cut!

Progression should be constant.
Just because you are cutting is not an excuse to be lifting lighter or less intense than normal.

why? you can eat all you want but if you don't workout to compensate you're just going to be a fatass.
and I personally don't think what you eat makes a difference in the gym, I gain size and strength whether or not I'm eating clean or dirty.

No it doesn't work that way. If you overtrain or undertrain (rare) the grocery store isn't gonna fix that.

and I'm saying you're NOT going to grow or gain any strength no matter how much you eat if you're not hitting it hard in the gym, and if I had to pick one it would be weights and obviously alot of food, this isn't quatum physics here; lift heavier AND eat more than you need to and you'll grow bigger and stronger.

very basic explanation:
when you lift weights, you're breaking down the muscles. they then repair, and depending on other inputs such as food, how hard you trained, sleep etc. they will usually grow back slightly bigger.
so if you train and don't eat, you'll grow, but very slowly. if you eat, but don't train, you'll just get fat.
in regards to heavier weights making you bigger... there is debate. some people will say 6 reps is awesome for mass, some say 5. some say 10-12 is the best rep range to get the pump and the muscle breakdown. try for yourself and see your results. i know for me for instance, 12 reps gets results for size.
good luck with it mate!

More food = heavier weights lifted + food = growth

Just remember that eating way too much even if you're training to your max won't put any more muscle on than eating around 500 cals over maintenence will. You can only gain so much muscle per month no matter what. Too many cals will just be stored as fat and cause a longer cutting period where there is no growth taking place.
Forget this if you're jucin' ;-)
