Gotcha. I trained with a Fighter in Illinois who was supposed to have opened a school in Utah, was wondering if you trained there.

LOL @ most people on this thread

Long time lurker.. also used to post here long time back...

There are a few (very few) good posts on this thread, but the vast majority of replies are just ridiculous. Just reading some of those replies, it would seem that you guys believe you either have horrible diets or that you guys are horribly misinformed about supplements or you guys are very gullible to marketing hype. Ever heard about placebo effect? lol

Anyway... there is no such thing as "the best multivitamin" since everyone's body chemistry and diet is different.... But this is what I currently take and I'm pleased with the peace of mind it gives me.

    1. Swanson Century Formula
    2. Swanson Mixed Vit E Tocopherols
    3. Swanson Vitamin C (I take up to 3g depending on my workouts)
    4. Swanson B-100 Super B Complex
    5. Twinlabs Calcium + Mag + Vit D (I take 2 tabs per workout day, so I get 1g Calc,500mg Magnesium, and 400IU Vit. D)

    Total yearly cost: $95 (360 doses, includes double-dose of #5, and triple-dose of #3 with shipping+tax included)

I really like the swanson brand because it's SO DAMN CHEAP, it's USP certified and has basically the same ingredients as vitamins costing upto 10x more.

Compare that with the yearly cost of taking Animal Pak, Orange Triad, GNC, Adam, etc... I guess if you want the convenience of not opening multiple bottles of vitamins and are willing to pay a buttload for that, then.. more power to ya! But, jsyk, there is gonna be ZERO difference between these "cheap", certified vitamins and the expensive stuff. Just MAKE SURE the manufacturer participates in regular certification of the products...otherwise, you might not get what's on the label.

(Oh yeah, I used to take the Twinlab Daily Ones and Swanson Active Ones Multivits, but couldn't justify the added cost since the main difference was an additional 5000IU of VitA, slightly higher doses of selenium, chromium and molybdenum of which i got plenty from my diet, and additional 100 and 300 mcg of B7 and B12, resp. - which was urinated out anyway cause a normal human body (mine) can't utilize such a high dose.)

Oh yeah, and I also eat roughly 15-20 servings of seeds, nuts, veges and berries everyday....so i'm pretty sure these vitamins are overkill anyway.

    HTH

I'm not sure the name of the school, or if he even did it. It was supposed to be run by UFC Fighter Jeremy Horn.

Note: one of the pills (the reddish one) is acctually an energy enhancer so it isn't neccessary to take. Its up to the indiviual
Hmm, dont you mean 22 days (44paks/2paks a day) for just over $20? thats a big difference.

    Vitamins

I started using regular Mega Men's vitamins and then I switched to Opti-Men vitamins to change things up. However, I didn't really like this product so I am going to switch to Mega Men's Sport shortly to see how that works.

it's a heck of a lot cheaper to add in a b-complex than to take 2 paks a day.

Little lower then normal on the b12 and vitman E, but if the price is right, seems fine.

(hmmm $27 for 180 servings. Quick google..Not bad).

    Smile PS Essentials

I think that the best multivitamin is PS Essentials found at http://www.doc1vitamins.com

PS Essentials are pharmaceutical grade supplements that are manufactured at FDA-approved facilities. The supplement contains the highest quality ingredients without harmful fillers or additives. This product was developed by a scientific advisory board of physicians. 90 day guarantee can't beat that. Just my two cents!

Looks like you are correct. I made up a little spread sheet here comparing the OT to half serving of AP. I don't thinki made any typos, but the half serving of AP doesnt look to compelling to buy it instead of OT.

Sell me on the AP :-)

I'd say this is my second-favorite. My first is AlphaMale from Shocker Nutrition. Rather unique formula, to my mind and it's very economical.

Most bodybuilders get adequate iron from their diets. If you do not, then a supplement containing iron is fine. Here is a table of foods that contain high amounts of iron that you can use to estimate your dietary iron intake.

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for iron for non-vegetarian pre-menopausal women is 18 mg/day. The RDA for non-vegetarian men and post-menopausal women is 8 mg/day. Because of iron absorption issues in a healthful, high-fiber vegetarian diet, the RDAs for vegetarians are higher - 14 mg/day for vegetarian men and 33 mg/day for vegetarian women.
