Mine probably should be to get more sleep every night (not just on the weekends). First, I think I'm going to have to resolve to make a resolution, though--I've never made a New Year's resolution. LOL

mine is to rid myself of the various things that cause obsession in my life... stress, food, working out, planning everything... I want to let go a little and relax more so I can be happier. My ultimate goal is to BE HAPPY!!!!!!!! Really happy!

Goal Setting for the New Year
Awesome goal (above). For the new year I will incorporate more mindfulness into my sleeping, training and eating. I want to become more aware, and more at peace with my schedule and commitments to health and fitness- I'm going to train my brain in the new year.

I like Amanda's approach, I definitely need to get more sleep.
I also need to start taking my diet more serious, AFTER all the goodies are gone though.

x2 I need to get more sleep! My new year's resolution is to allow my body to repair itself, by getting a decent night's rest!

I'd actually like to try last year's resolution again. It was to entertain at least once a month (keeps my house cleaner). I failed miserably last year so I'll give it another shot.

Get organised!
Plan things out so it doesn't all go to **** - sounds rubbish but I work so much better with a routine.....
Of course if I plan out my food and gym visits, the flab loss will follow...
Oh and if I can't get out of debt, to not get in any more......

I haven't made a new years resolution in years! I always told myself they're made to be broken, so I didn't want to get my hopes up about keeping a goal then burning it when I failed.
Well, my motivation and perception on life has changed just a little bit these last few months (In a good way) and I say it's time to make a New Years resolution, lol! I really want to keep making goals for myself and reaching them all year long! I say, first goal is continue weight loss and get to my goal weight...then MAINTAIN. One thing I've never accomplished...ever.
Great thread!

I have two new years resolutions:
1) to trust myself in making decisions
and
2) to trust myself in knowing what is best for my body and spirit!! -- in regards to training, eating clean, getting enough sleep, getting enough rest, and taking care of myself emotionally.

Me
Training: Gain muscle and keep the fat off.
Work: improve my Spanish classes as much as possible (take courses, read more, planning more)
Personal: meet some new friends. I am very shy and it is difficult for me to know new people.

To lose the weight I've gained back from having quit smoking and help my husband lower his cholesterol and lose fat through a "real" clean diet and regular exercise. And see my family more.

fitness wise, i have been full steam ahead towards my goals since september, but this summer i will probably cut. my resolutions are all about learning new things
NUMERO UNO, learn to ride a bike when the weather is nicer. yes, i don't know how to ride a bike. i live in vancouver ( a city overrun by public transit, walkers and bikers), i don't own a car, i walk frigging everywhere... i'm going to learn to ride a bike!
take a yoga class with a style i haven't tried before
write more, paint more, sketch more.. EXPRESS MYSELF!
and in general, just love myself, treat myself better than i have been and be honest (to myself and others)

to make sure that I convert at least two "resolutionists" to full time members at my gym.. gonna pick the smallest.. weakest looking person there and encourage them instead of pointing and laughing when they pick up the 10's...

My first goal would be to get big, keep eating big, sleep big, and lift hard. The only one I seem to be having trouble with is sleeping, since I am an owl, but slowly I'm fixing it.
Second would be to find a balance with all the things going on in my life right now.
And that's it.

For the FIRST year, I honestly don?t have any New Year?s Resolutions. My only goal and intent, is to continue walking closely with the Lord, and to always remember that training and improved health, is a "lifestyle" change, and not a diet or temporary "program". Other than that, I'm just going with the flow, and looking forward to continual growth in all areas. T

1. Take advantage of the slight weight gain (...eek!) to increase my lifts.
2. Get back on the 5-6 meals per day track; balance out my p/c/f ratio again; eat those veggies; eat that fiber; cut back the alcohol; increase the water.
3. Continue forward with the recompositioning and at the end of April 2008 see if I feel ready to do a figure competition (maybe aim for something in late Summer/Fall).

I'm going to remember that nothing goes into my mouth by accident. Anything I ate, it's because I made a decision to put it in my mouth. Before I eat, I'm going to ask if this will help me towords my goals, and if now, why am I eating it?
Oh, and I'll spend less time surfing and more time squatting.
