This week is really crazy for me with mid-terms and work. I wil simply not have the time to go to the gym this week. i usually go on a 5 day plan, with one day cardio and a rest day. I haven't missed a week, (or even a day) in well over 5 months. Will this week off have any effect. please let me know

It will probably do you some good mentally and physically. I'm not a huge fan of entire weeks off with zero training (rather a period lower workload, frequency etc...) but the bottom line is that sometimes you need to get away and putting some effort into doing well on your exams is certainly a positive goal. Don't worry about it (you might come back a lot stronger and fresher ready for new progress), and kick ass on your tests.

Just keep up the eating. Your body will probly benefit if you've been hitting the gym hard.
The first day back you may be a couple reps weaker, but don't worry by the next workout, you'll be right back where you left off, a little fresher."I have killed two people since midnight. I haven't slept in over 24 hours. So maybe you should be a little more afraid of me than you are now".
