2006 Australian Pro Show
The promoter of the Australian Pro Show, Tony Dothery said that at the 2006 Australian Pro Show, Lee Priest WILL be back to defend his title and that Dexter Jackson, Dennis James and Branch Warren have expressed interest and will most likely be competing as well. So that has the makes of a great line up so far and will be a tight contest. I'd like to see Chris Corimer compete again and get beaten by Lee again. Also I think a good line up would be.-
Lee Priest
Dexter Jackson
Dennis James
Branch Warren
Troy Alves
David Henry
Chris Corimer
Darrem Charles
Melvin Anthony
Luke Wood
John Davie
Johnnie Jackson
Markus Ruhl
Bob Chic
King Kamali
Mark Dugdale
Phil Heath
And if it can't be staged in Melbourne it will be on The Gold Coast, yeah baby.
What do you guys think of that line up?

I don't think it would be rigged as lee has beaten dexter a few times. Anything can happen.

Remember guys that only Lee, Dexter, Dennis and Branch are competing in it so far. The rest of the line up is who I'd like to see compete here in Australia as not alot of the top guys have competed in the Australian show in yrs gone by. I think that line up would make for a great show.

thats odd, when the locals were being done on victoria, tony doherty was saying they would have to move it to sydney if the melbourne thing didnt pan out.
either way im gonna try and make it this year, should be an awesome show.

That lineup would never happen. I think first place gets a solid $10,000, why would all of those pros travel to Australia for 10,000 when there is 8 people or so that would have a legit chance. Most of those pros may do the Ironman, Arnold, and Sanfrancisco and then call it a season until the Olympia. Australian pro is just in a bad place. A. It is in Australia, and B. it is the fourth show of the year.

Is that right, maybe he was just saying that to each place he went to just to fire up the crowd and get there hopes up.

Well im sure that Dexter, Lee, Dennis and Branch will all be competing in at least 2 of thoes show and they are still coming out to do the Aussie show. Of thoes 4 guys, 1 will miss out on the cash but they are still making the effort. Its about promoting the sport of bodybuilding and the more top guys that come out the better for bodybuilding in Australia. Its not often that top pro's come to Australia.
So I don't think its to much to ask too much, but i'd just like to see the rest of the guys come out and give a top show as not alot travel to Australia.

Well, Tony, the promoter, lives in Melbourne and many of the pro's have trained at his gym (which is where the weigh in is usually held) so I'm sure it would be a lot easier for him to keep the show in Melbourne.

It's usually around March but might be a few weeks different this year.

I understand that it 'could be easier' but i think its about getting the rest of the country involved in the only pro show that get staged here. It could only help bodybuilding in Australia and im sure that it would creat alot of interest in other states as melbourne has alot of sporting events held there and it might just end up as 'another event'. If some state does a crap job at staging it well then they miss out until the have sorted out the problems from the previous show. Im sure that the ppl in WA & the NT would appreciate having it staged over there at least once, so they don't have to travel each year half way across the country if they want to see the show.
