Been bulking a little-223 now
After that photoshoot on Tuesday I decided to bulk a little. Nothing major just decided to up my oatmeal intake by about 50-75% or so. Im not on the BSN mass stack anymore so I decided to see if I could gain some size playing around with my carb intake. I haven't measured my bodyfat yet but in about 2 weeks I gained around six pounds. It basically adds up to another 600-800 cals a day, only from the oatmeal but I can tell my body wants it bad! I also allowed myself one cheat meal on the weekend to reset my metabolism a little. To add more energy preworkout I have been trying VPX Redline, and like it so far. Ive also consciously been trying to go heavier than usual. Today got 160 lb dumbells for 5 on the incline for my mass building chest exercise. Felt pretty good. Anyways here are some pics. The lighting in this gym is pooooooor in the bathroom but you might see that I put on some more mass while not losing much in terms of definition.
Regards,
Evan

I dont know about insane but thanks very much..i dont know how far I am gonna take it. Maintaining leanness is the name of the game but I think if i can keep up a ratio of adding 5 pounds with 3-4 being muscle every couple of months or whatever the case may be....I wouldn't complain

Thanks man...my shoulder only lets me do incline right now so I have to compensate with some bigger weights. Im thinkin on flat I could get the 175's going for a few (but it would hurt that much is certain).
Redline doesnt make me shiver at all just good focused energy. Its the only caffeine I take in all day so it hits me all the right ways.

Evan,
I know you've mentioned you want to get into modeling/acting or something along those lines... but man, looking at you and your amazing strength for your size I feel it's a waste if you didn't give Strongman a shot. Your strength is way above your size and if you wanted you could grow a whole lot more. I'm not telling you what you should do, just sort of wondering if you ever thought about it?

HAHA...well genetics are a huge part, there is no doubt about that. I do however bust my ass like few other gym rats I have encountered. When Im goin heavy you will would probably hear me before you saw me as I shriek in pain With anything, as time has passed I have learned so much and how to pay attention to my body in a ways that allow me to maximize my results. Its not easy, and I dont have it down perfectly by any means but I'm doin my best.

BigEvan,
As most everyone else has said, I'm quite impressed with your results, and I see you as being in the more advanced stage of training. Sort of a vague question, but what would you attribute to your jump from an intermediate level to the more advanced stage at which you are presently training? Better nutrition/supps? More focused training? Educating yourself with regards to nutrition? Any advice would be appreciated, as I am in what I would say is an upper intermediate phase. Thanks bro. peace

Hey EV,
Lookin' great.
Did you get any contacts in vegas?
Seems as if we're differing our goals for the time being.
I'm hunting the 28 inch waist (only .7-8 to go) and you're after a bit more size.
Posedown early next year
Keep up the great work bro.

I would have to go with diet above all else. My strength, dedication and focus in the gym was always there. Once I started playing around with diet and finding that blend that worked best for me I started to kick into a higher gear. The leaner I got the more I could see what was lacking and better pinpoint muscle groups. I started weak point training to compliment my regular training while maintaining a strict and balanced diet. If I had to break down my results I would say 60 percent is diet, 30 percent is training, and 10 percent is rest. Many can train heavy and get some good mass...I know, I was big bulky guy who at anything and just lifted for the numbers. Now I take everything into consideration and its far more rewarding.

hairless
Evan,
In all of your pics you always seem to be hairless. Do you stay hairless? If so, what methods do you use? I have only recently got my bf down to 10-12% where it would look good to be hairless, and I ran into some painful ingrowns. I would appreciate any advice/recommendations.

i was thinking about trying that redline stuff do u just take it for the caffeine if so could i just get the same thing from drinking a diet coke before lifting... lately i have been having a lot of trouble sleeping and have been really tired when i lift so i can t lift as heavy as usual
i was also thinking of upping my carb intake or at least adding a little more sugar to my diet right now im getting around 100g of carb a day do u think that is why im so tired?

100g a day? Is that including your post workout carbs? I would say thats very low...not ketosis low but certainly enough to induce lethargy. By comparison I would say that I take in approximately 350g of carbs a day and about 400g of protein. Fats I still keep in the 50-60g range. I think you would have to drink a whole lota diet coke to get that much caffine, not to mention all the bloating you would need to deal with.

Evan,
Looking amazing, bro! Excellent work on the continued bulk and getting bigger. Gaining 6 lbs, mostly muscle, is tough to do, but you seem to have a good combination of diet and exercise to promote healthy growth.
Inspirational as always! Working to get my arms like that, too. haha. Of course, I have more work to do. I'll check your postings for diet and exercise information rather than asking... figured you would have already posted it somewhere.
Keep up the excellent work.
Lates,
Russ

I dunno about being more ripped...that may just be the pic, Im fairly certain I lost a little def in my lower abs but Im happy with the overall gain so far. When I shoot again...it'll be back to the isopure (premade 160 cal 40g protein drinks) and a half cup oatmeal...leaning down meals....bleh!
