Is it necessary for the water to be cold? Just wondering since i'm considering bringing shakes to school and not just wasting them.

I usually make mine in an insulated thermos with a couple of ice cubes
It stays cold all day.

i cant see why your protein shake will have to be cold, i mean i dont eat my other protein sources chilled so i dont see why it should be different? where did you hear this or can anyone explain to me the science behind this?

I wanna kno whos spreading these rumors. No your whey doesnt HAVE to be kept cold, it will be fine. It taste better cold of course, but it doesnt need to be cold. It might keep it good an extra hour after it's supposed to spoil or something but nothing special.

It says it needs to be cold because the protein denatures once it goes above 150 degrees farenheit. So the enzymes in your protein are ineffective. The protein will still be good if you overheat your whey but the enzymes won't do their thing.

I just tried my first glass of cold whey protein and it isn't so bad but I like using mine with warm water and drinking it as hot chocolate whey despite the negative effects.

it could be because cold water makes your metablisom work. So it could help with abosorption of the protein i guess.
