Jackass liberal judge humiliated, might I add - What an idiot.

Am I missing something? What did the judge do wrong?
Judges are elected in Texas and are free to contribute to candidates and political parties.

Looks like his contributions to Moveon.org were the real problem. Even though I don't like Delay, I see no problem with removing the judge. Just like removing jury members who would have a bias.

They should remove the judge. Along as they nail Delay I don't care who the judge is.

No judge can be seen to be biased. As this case involves financial fraud and money laundering in a political context, this judge could be seen as being biased as he has in past donated money to the opposite party (Dem). Delay will still go on trial (hopefully with a semi neutral judge) and all indications are that he will most probably be convicted.
Calling the judge a "jackass" says more about the original poster's character than the judge's.

That judge prosecuted Democrats as well.
Delay is the perfect model for the politican everyone hates. Dammit, I can't stand that guy, you just have to look at his ****-eating grin and can tell he's a son of a bitch.

Yeah, okay, I'm going to bite...who the f*k is DeLay?
And yes, I do agree that the judge should have been removed. They should be impartial and free of bias (not that it doesn't often work like that but whatever).Viking to the core.
Fark yew.

Note: I will no longer be making any posts in the Politics forum. Politics is too sketchy of a subject to be discussing over the internt when things like context/sarcasm/underlining-meaning cannot be determined.

Then they just moved on.
It will happen here, too.

You might be right. We will just have to see how the trial goes.

The link shows the results of a good legal tactic.
I see nothing that shows any behavior inappropriate by the judge, just legal political donations that "might" give the appereance of bias in regards to this specific defendant.
Changes of venues, recuesing of personnel, these are common occurences in the practice of law. I don't know how the original poster jumped to "humiliated" in his judgement of events, but there seems to be only one "jackass" involved.Without learning frankness becomes vulgarity; bravery, disobedience; firmness, eccentricity; humanity, stupidity; wisdom, flightness, sincerity, a plague

Lastly, to stay on topic, why is the judge a jackass? In 1994 he stepped down for the same reasons in another similar case. Way to go smear a guy who doesn't have a single quote or hasn't said anything within this particular article.
Also, DeLay's followers are crying about Austin's "libera bias". Maybe you should start there in your complaints, because that is rediculous.
