Met the Rock in the Gym Today!
He's bomb. He was so down-to-earth, easy to talk to and extremely respectful. He said he just came back from London 6 hours ago promoting Doom and he was lifting his ass off! Wow! He also said he's working on another movie, I think he said it was called "Grid Iron Gods". He said it was coming out pretty soon. Stand up character.

Rocky is one of those people I most want to meet. I've never heard anything bad from anyone who's met him. Thanks for sharing your experience.

He was circuit training so he was using cables and machine stations more than free weights. He's trying to keep in shape more than build muscle cuz' remember he's trying to develop his Hollywood career, not his wrestling career. But he had great intensity. Finished up with the stairmaster.

I saw him at the 24 Hour Fitness in Simi Valley. That's usually where he trains at, and I usually train close-by but just happened to go there tonight... I was pleasantly surprised!

Hey man, do you live in Simi? I used to live there when I was a kid until I was 11, but had to move about 3 hours south of there to Riverside. Nice story though.

Just read a good article on him in Men's Journal. Said his training is geared around being in peak physical condition and simply tries to save on time whenever he can due to his many projects. Def sounds like a cool cat.

Nah, I live in Moorpark... Nice handle btw. This is the first time I actually got to see The Rock since he started training over there in Simi since the beginning of this year.

Yeah, but he's still big. He towered over me, I'm 5'9'' and he's about 6'2'' and looked around 220-230. He's certainly not trying to be a wrestler, as I said before, though.

He was a bit pudgey as a wrestler. He is a ripped 230lbs right now at 6'2'', according to his interview in Men's Journal. Def looks better now than he did in WWE.

Not quite. He wasn't poor. His father was a professional wrestler, so he made some good money but then he got a job eventually as a truck driver. He didn't live great, but he lived comfortably. The reason he is humble is because all the experiences he went through in order to get where he is today. Playing the the CFL living on one sub sandwhich a weekend is a tough way to come up.

You must have seen his A&E biography special. (Was it A&E or E!?)

I remember watching that...i think it was on E!. anyway it didn't say that he survived on just one sandwich a weekend, but that money was so tight that he would go to the meetings just for the sandwiches. I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to say that was all he ate. Well, either way he worked pretty hard to get where is is today. You hear of a lot of celebrities being a$$ holes in person. Its good to hear about someone who's genuinly a nice guy.

It was in his book.. and I don't think I may have worded it correctly... He used to go to the meetings (for football) to get the free food that was passed ot even though he wasn't obligated to go, and he said he took the sandwhich home and had to make it last the entire weekend because he could barely afford anything else...

Yeah, I saw it - I believe it was on A & E? They had a E! one but I never caught that one. I got the info out of his book, though. It might have said it in his biography on it, I'm not sure.

That's a small price to pay for the wealth and success he has now. Most people, regardless of their economic status, would show up for free food.

In 2001-2004 he was a lot slimmer than he was from 98-01. I don't think he's much smaller now than he was when he last was in the ring (WM20). His condition in Walking Tall is probably his best so far...

He was never really "podgy" as someone said in the WWF. when he first came in 96 he was pretty ripped with decent size, over the next couple of years he seemed to put a lot of size on with some fat too, i have a tape from 98 on RAW where he looked HUGE. and id say about 13% bodyfat or so...he's in more of a "mens health" condition nowadays but hes definetly lost a LOT of size! i remember meeting him in 99 too and thinking he was HUGE
