Special Forces combat methods
PLEASE no joke or mocking posts, let's keep this serious.
Does anyone have any *true* and reliable information on how the Spetznas/Delta Force/SAS/(insert special force) fight hand-to-hand?
I mean techniques like knife fighting, breaking another guy's neck with your hand, grappling, punching and kiciking - all that stuff.
I've always been very curious on finding out this stuff. Unfortunately, googl'ing this stuff produces mostly commercial nonsense and how-to videos and stuff like that.
Any help? Looking forward to a good thread!

Thing is, they all use different methods. It's not really one set discipline, you know?
They actually sell videos of the different styles of fighting.

I think they usually just shoot the bad guy. Pro'ly just do a little MMA style training on occasion, but they aren't all trained like Ken Shamrock or anything. A buddy of mine is a Seal and I can wrestle, pin him down whenever Iwant to.

I know some of them use some form of Martial Arts, especially Krav Maga, but aside from that it's the easiest way to bring them down and bring them down for good. I think they keep the actual methods fairly close to their chest, but FreshMintBlue is right...try Limewire. It's amazing what you can find on that.

Why are you wanting to know about fighting? Just find your local martial arts dojo and sign up.

In the marine corps we had the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, but I don't think any civilian places teach that (yet, it will probably happen eventually). The most well known military martial art is probably Krav Maga, there are a ton of places that teach it to civilians.
