What is Gynecomastia (Male Breasts, Bitch Tits, Puffy Nipples, Man Boobs, Gyno, Gyne) ?
Gynecomastia, or gynaecomastia, pronounced /ˌgaɪnəkoʊˈm?stiə/ The term comes from the Greek words gyne meaning "woman" and mastos meaning "breast." In practical terms, this means abnormally large breasts on men. The condition is relatively common in adolescent boys, and 90% of the time symptoms disappear in a matter of months, or, as adolescence wanes, a few years later. But the remaining 10% are burdened with a social handicap that causes a deep and complex shame, depression, lack of self confidence, constant teasing and puts one's relationship with one's body at risk.
Gynecomastia is usually not due to obesity, the breast development shrinks or disappears within a couple of years. The causes of common gynecomastia remain uncertain, although it has generally been attributed to an imbalance of sex hormones or the tissue responsiveness to them; a root cause is rarely determined for individual cases. Breast prominence can result from hypertrophy of breast tissue, chest adipose tissue and skin, and is typically a combination. Gynecomsta is due solely to excessive adipose tissue or glandular tissue, or a combination of both which is called "Pseudogynecomastia"
What causes Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is usually caused by changes in hormones at puberty or as part of aging. Gynecomastia may be caused by changes in the balance of 2 hormones: estrogen and testosterone. In rare cases, gynecomastia may be caused by prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, illegal drugs, tumors or disease.
Bottem Line there are 13 things that might cause Gynecomasta:
* steroid abuse (bitch tits)
* marijuana use (this is in question)
* genetic disorders (e.g. passed on genetically)
* chronic liver disease
* side effects of many medications
* Klinefelter Syndrome
* Gilbert's Syndrome
* High estrogen levels / Hormone imbalance <---- THIS IS USUALLY THE MAIN CAUSE
Will my Gynecomastia go away over time?
Yes and no, About 50% of adolescent men will develop gynecomastia (usually during puberty this is when estrogen levels are high and gyno is likely to occur). Usually half the adolescents who develop gynecomastia will see it subside or disappear completely over a period of months or years. As for the ones that gyno does not go away, Gynecomastia can be emotionally devastating. Feelings of shame, embarrassment, humiliation, teasing, and lack of self confidence are common. One does not feel masculine in a society where masculinity is exalted. Self-hate threads itself through all aspects of the individual's life, creating an insidious web of powerlessness. A man or boy with Gynecomastia struggles with anxiety over such simple acts as taking off his shirt at the beach.
How can I tell if I have Gynecomastia?
First of all you should see a doctor or If you feel a slight tingly, burning, sometimes painful sensation in your nipples and your nipples are tender to the touch. This is usually the first stages of gynecomastia forming. You will first notice your nipples starting to get puffy (This usually happens during puberty ages 12-18) in most cases these nipple sensations / puffy nipples, subsides or disappears within months or years.
In rare cases like mines, if left untreated it will keep growing and growing until the gynecomastia has finally reached its final state it usually stops growing at the end of puberty (age 18). Now it usually feels like a hard, lumpy, glandular matter under your nipples and the area around your nipples. This is full blown Gynecomastia it contours your chest to shape like womans breasts.
If you cannot see a doctor to diagnose your gyno you can do a Pinch Test heres how to do it in the following link http://www.plasticsurgery4u.com/proc...east_exam.html basically your pinching your nipple and areas around your nipple, feeling for somewhat hard, lumpy, glandular tissue which is gynecomastia.
If you don't have any of these symptoms you probably just have high BF% lose some weight, if still none you have no gyno ^__^
How can i treat Gynecomastia?
If you are in the first stages of the Gynecomastia forming (slight tingly, burning, tenderness, puffiness sometimes painful sensation in your nipples) you have 2 choices wait a few months or years and it will usually subside or completely disappear. Or you can take supplements or medicine that lowers your estrogen levels to MAKE SURE it will go away i HIGHLY recommend doing this if you see any signs of gyno forming THIS IS YOUR ONLY CHANCE TO CURE YOUR GYNO YOU MUST ACT ASAP but see your doctor / physician before doing this. If not treated the Gynecomastia in rare cases like mines and many others, will turn into its final state which is the hard, lumpy, glandular / adipose tissue under and around the nipples that will stay with you for the rest of your life. Which can ONLY be removed via Surgery when the gynecomastia is in its final state IT WILL NOT RESPOND TO TREATMENTS, MEDICINE, SUPPLEMENTS. This is why you must take action as soon as you feel you have gyno in its first stages.
Can Exercise & Weight Loss make Gynecomastia go away?
No. Gynecomastia IS NOT FAT IT DOES NOT RESPOND TO WEIGHT LOSS IT IS GLANDULAR TISSUE. It actually makes it look worse as your BF% decreases and your Pec muscle gets bigger it pushes the glandular tissue more further out making the gyno look worse. Many people think man boobs is from being fat but this is usually not true you can actually be anorexic and still have the biggest man boobs. BUT if you are getting surgery losing weight and exercising is a must it will give you the best results and will be cheaper too.

Now heres me 3 years later, age 18 best shape i could possibly be in. The reason why i needed to lose the weight #1 the more BF% you have the more expensive the surgery (hey i ain't rich) #2 the less BF you have the better the results...
