Which Captain of Crush should I buy?

I don't know if I'm strong enough to close #1, should I start with the trainer? The trainer takes 100 lbs and #1 takes 140lbs. How hard is it?

I'd say get the Trainer, the #1, and the #2. This is a pretty standard recommendation to gripper newbies. The Trainer will be significantly more difficult than any other gripper you've tried. Even if you can close it for reps though, it will still be useful for warmups.
    Back from the grave.

the trainer is a good investment. you will always get use from it as a warmup tool, when you graduate to big boy toys.
    i still haven't made it to a 3 yet.

yes, i recommend getting the Trainer, #1, and #2 right off the bat.

the trainer is always good as a warmup and can be used for other things like overcrushes and rep work.

#1 and #2. don't wate your $$ with the trainer - although you won't be able to close #1, 1-2weeks of training with some negatives on it and ou'll be able to like there's no tomorrow.

The trainer is a waste of money, buy the 1 and 2. Like AJ said, after a few weeks you can rep with the 1 and truly, the trainer becomes TOO easy.

Kinda like buying 3 dumbbells to train your biceps. a 22 lb, a 38 lb and a 44 lb. the 38 may seem heavy at the beginning, but what are you gonna achieve with a 22 lb. Very little. So go straight to the 38 lb db - the same with CoC, go to the number 1.

Like a few guy's have already said, get the Trainer, and #1, and possibly #2. DO NOT skip the trainer, for reason's mentioned, such as warmups, overcrushes, strap holds, whatever. I am within a hair of closing the #3, and still use my Trainer all the time. Interested in hand strength? Check this place out www.functionalhandstrength.com

    ditto. Get the trainer.

I thought since I'd been training a while I'd be a hero and just get the no1 and no2. Couldnt even close half of 1 so ended up ordering the trainer. And when you get used to it, just use it as a warm up, I currently use a cheapy one for warm up.

Get the trainer. However, if you really wanna own your grip, heres a nice tip i got off Ironmind.com:

Get two Guide's. Wrap two towels around pull up bar. Squeeze the guides on the towel, and then do pull-ups while holding both grippers closed. You'd be surprised how fast a 60 lb gripper can kick your ass with this technique.

So then you invert it, and start working your pinch grip, problem solved.

Nate I have T, 1, and #2. I could close the T immediately with my right, and I was a pretty average guy gripwise. I can now close the #1 with both hands, and I can get the #2 to parallel with both. I am trying to train them evenly. #2 is giving me a lot of trouble tho.

pinch grip is mostly about your thumb, so i don't see how it would work either.

unless you ONLY used your thumb and not the heel of your palm?
