i just started working full-time recently and i've had trouble adjusting my diet to this. i've been going from restaurant to restaurant looking for something nutritious enough and cheap enough.
yesterday i went into one of those grocery store/deli places that are scattered all over manhattan. you know the kind, a couple aisles of groceries, a deli counter, and a salad/hot foods bar.
anyways, i realized that the hot foods are charged by the pound, and it only costs about $5/lb. yesterday i had a piece of baked salmon and a grilled chicken breast with some string beans on the side, and it only cost me $4.
comparatively, a small sandwich costs $7 around here.
i just want to make sure that everything is okay with these foods. does anyone know any reasons why i shouldn't continue getting hot deli food (as long as it's baked fish or chicken + veggies)? do they use bad oils or seasonings or anything?
and anyone how know they keep this stuff so cheap? maybe i'm just being a little overly skeptical.
