    Daily cals with golf

    Hi I'm 6ft 177lbs and 21
I was just wondering how many calories I should take in so during the winter my maintainance cals were 2800 but during summer I play golf like 5 times a week for about 2 and a half hours, how many extra calories should I take to factor in.
    I carry my clubs btw

Hard to say for sure. Monitor your weight loss/gain and adjust appropriately. Based on my past experience it could easily be upward of 500 kcal, though. Of course, that's just an estimate and you'd be better served to just experiment a little bit until you get to your target weight trend.

That's as good a guess as any. It depends on a lot of other factors, like what you do during the winter and how you spend the rest of your day during the summer. It's gonna take some experimentation, just roll with it.

Get a heart rate monitor and go from there. It will give you a close guestimate of what you are burning per session of golf. FYI, you burn more calories if you suck! LOL. (Walking to find the ball)

I know for me personally, at 5' 11" and 145 pounds I THINK I have a maintenance of 3800 calories when I golf, walk, carrying my clubs 18 holes and lift. I am a collegiate golfer as well... so I won't be taking TOO many swings

IN for answers though. I honestly have just noticed my caloric expenditure went WAY up when I started golfing, just want to see how many people have got it nailed exactly how much.
Been playing with shafts and balls since '75.
