Oatmeal?
I am thinking of adding some oatmeal into my meals but I'm not sure what to really get. I hate plain oatmeal and always put a lot of brown sugar in it but if there is something out there that takes good where I wouldn't need sugar then I want to eat that.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Steel cut oats.
I'm sure there is an oatmeal recipe thread around if you search a bit.
Mix in things like flavored protein powder, apples, berries, pumpkin seeds, cinnamon, etc... get creative as there are no "rules" ...

they have maple sugar versions in ready to go packs. I looked at the box and the only difference is about 3 g of sugar if I remember. Sometimes if I don't feel like plain oatmeal I'll grab one of those.

Any will do. A fruit flavored one or even a chocolate/peanut butter one.
Vanilla would just be bland on top of bland.

I agree! I actually look forward to eating my oatmeal....its SO GOOD! There is a instant brand that Walmart stocks, its a no added sugar product, all natural, with blueberries and flax. LOVE IT. Instant, I know...but my mornings are busy and I hate washing the pan all the time!

really, I tried chocolate and it was gross in my oats. Anyways for more protein in your oats add CC, its pretty good.

Today I tried putting two whole eggs in my oats with less than a minute left to cook. I stirred them constantly and the oats puffed up really well.
It came out a little runnier than I expected, but I haven't come down with Salmonella yet. If anyone else does this, at what point do you put the eggs in? I don't want to get food poisoning.

I'm getting oatmeal today. Should I buy the Quaker steel cut oats? What brand and type do you recommend?

The cheapest brand of steel cut or old fashioned rolled oats you can find.
Don't waste your money on Quaker or McCann's.

Well I picked up some that actually has brown sugar in it and it's not really much diffrent then without, as far as number on the package are. But also I went to Costco and picked up a big ass box of plain and also a 6lbs bag of chocolate protein mix so I will see how that tastes in the next day or two.

I love my morning oatmeal.... the add-in possibilities are endless. Here is a few of my faves:
PB, sugar-free maple syrup, and splenda
blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries with a little skim milk
cottage cheese or yogurt, splenda, cinnamon
chopped-up apple (cook it in the oats), s.f. maple syrup, cinnamon, splenda
whey protein powder (various flavors)
canned pumpkin, s.f. maple syrup, splenda, cinnamon
banana, pineapple, splenda, skim milk
I am always experimenting....

Meatloaf recipe I came up with recently.
1 pound 96/4 Ground Sirloin
1 cup Oatmeal
1 tablespoon Garlic Powder (sodium free)
1 tablespoon Onion Powder (sodium free)
2 egg whites
Mix together well, place in an oven safe cooking pan, cook at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.
Makes 4-6 servings depending on appetite. Serve with 1 tsp. Heinz One-Carb Ketchup.

2/3's may seem like a lot but.....
if you're bulking you should still find a way to get more in
