Hi All. Just wanted to ask if there is any major difference between the whole and the split red lentils. I know that the split lentils cook much quicker, in like 10-15 minutes, but I mean nutritionally/health-wise. From what I have read, the nutritional breakdown is the same for both (around 300cal, 53g carb, 25g protein per 100g). Do the whole ones have any additional benefits or are the split ones ok?
Hey There. Yup, lentils and beans are great. Thing is beans take too long (I am a bit impatient ). Red lentils (whole) don't take as long, around 45 minutes to an hour, but I heard the split lentils take much less time. If there isn't anything lacking then it would be ideal. Just wanted to check that it is not processed such as precooked, or if any 'good stuff' is removed with the slpitting/hulling process.
