Questino with recovery time
I was thinking today that I wanted to lift 7 days a week. Basically my routine is I do half of my muscles one day, the other have the 2nd day, then a day of rest.
But I always feel good after resting for a day so I am wondering if it would be okay to just keep going everyday. I am trying to lost my body fat and "convert" that weight to muscle. Or woudl this be working my muscles too hard without enough rest?

So right now you are doing a full-body split consisting of 2 different workouts that you rotate from workout to workout ? I wouldn't recommend doing that seven days a week. If you want to hit the gym more often throughout the week split up your bodyparts more specifically so your week could look something like this:
Monday: Back
Tuesday:Chest
Wednesday:Legs
Thursday:Arms
Friday:Abs
Saturday:Shoulders
Sunday:Rest
This would allow you to go to the gym a bit more without overtraining ... just remember muscle is built outside of the gym by eating and sleeping, you need to repair the muscle for it to grow.

Devote an entire day to abs? Let's not.
If you've been lifting for a while, you'll do fine with 48 hours recovery time. So, if you wanted, you could even alternate between upper and lower body everyday.

7 days a week is okay, but it can be very taxing if you don't get your rest and adequate nutrition, so up those calories. It would be a good idea to give yourself at least one day off. Just remember that your body takes about 18-24 hours to recover from aerobic exercise and about 36-48 hours for anaerobic, which most of us lifters here focus on. If you don't allow your muscles to rest long enough, you perpetuate a catabolic state in which muscle is constantly being broken down and not given a chance to rebuild. If you want to get rid of that fat, don't neglect your cardio. Activity that continues constantly for several minutes makes your body switch energy systems to your your oxidative system, which pulls its primary energy from fat and carbohydrate stores and uses it. But fat provides the most calories (in terms of energy) so your body uses it first. Going with a diet relatively low in fat will be good for you because you want to burn enough fat to make your body rely on carbs. So yeah, you might wanna take a day or two off, eat plenty of carbs, go lower fat, and remember to get that cardio in. Hope this helps =)

maybe you can split your body in 3 to add more recovery time to specific muscles, and goin 7 days a week is a bit harsh dont you think ? even arnold would rest 1 day and go 6 days out of the week.

I put in the abs day for more of a rest-type day than anything else ... you could also put forearms, rear-delts or any other minor weakpoints on that day to get a decent workout.

I find it very hard to work out the same muscle every other day. Try it for a while and see how it goes.

So every other day you're going to be doing the same routine?

So today I am feeling pretty sore, and tired but the tiredness is from work graveyard.
But I have been lifting for 3 days in a row and I am wondering, is the soreness telling me to take a day off?

I'd split it up into 3 days at least...

What's wrong with carbs? They provide energy.
