Fit Focus's Review of Gaspari Superpump250 Lemonburst

Welcome to my Gaspari Superpump250 Lemonburst log. I was fortunate to be selected by the Gaspari team to record my experiences. I am really excited and looking forward to trying Superpump Lemonburst and reporting my results.

History
I grew up playing a lot of sports, softball and gymnastics among others. As an adult I stayed active running, hiking, biking and swimming. I would go to the gym off and on through the years, but I would only use the machines and do cardio. I was never happy with my body, and was constantly loosing and gaining the same twenty pounds, I would go from fat to skinny-fat. My husband has been weightlifting for years and started to compete last summer. I went to his shows and liked the way the competitors looked, much different than the average lean runner - I decided that I wanted to look like a bodybuilder. I started going to the gym in September 06, and I love the changes I have seen in my body. I especially enjoy the challenges of the weight room, I like to push myself and am constantly going for the next PR. I did my first competition last Aug ? Washington State INBF Bodybuilding and Figure Championships, I competed in figure and placed 3rd out of 4. I am planning on doing the show again next year and hope to improve both my look and my placing. I have been working to increase strength and size doing mostly compound exercises. Currently trying to add lean muscle, I would like to add 10 lbs of muscle by my next show, August 2008. I am expecting Superpump to help me get to my desired results.

Current Training Schedule / Protocol:
Monday:
Barbell Flat Bench
Bent Over Rows
Shoulder Press
Pec Deck

Tuesday:
Squats
Roman. Deadlifts
Lunges
Calf Raises

Thursday:
Barbell Incline Press
Pull-ups
Dips
Close grip Pulldowns

Friday:
Deadlifts
Leg Press
Hyper Extensions
Weighted Sit-ups

Sets and Reps change every couple of weeks. I also do a couple of sets of Bi?s and Tri?s on Wednesdays.

Cardio Schedule/Protocol:
I like to run during my lunch hour two or three times a week. Since I am currently bulking, I just do cardio to keep my cardiovascular healthy.

Current supplements:

Current Diet and macros:
Currently on a clean bulking diet eating 2000 to 2200 calories, with about a 40p/40c/20f
Wake up, have a piece of fruit, coffee, protein shake with Creatine.
Workout
Protein Shake
Meal 1: Egg Whites, Whole Egg, Oatmeal
Meal 2: NF Yogurt w/protein, fruit, WW Bread w/almond butter
Meal 3: Salmon, Brown Rice, Broccoli
Meal 4: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Broccoli
Meal 5: Tuna, salsa, almonds
Meal 6: Protein Shake
Drink a Gallon of Water daily

Short Term Goal:
Build 10 pounds of lean mass and compete in a bodybuilding show in Aug 08.
Bench Press my bodyweight.

Long Term Goal:
Gain Strength and size would like to eventually compete at 110 lbs and 8% bf.


Throughout this review I will be reporting the following observations:
1. My appearance before and after training compared to "normal"
2. General disposition of my mood
3. Any enhanced mental accuity
4. Overall energy levels
5. Training and exercise in detail

I will start logging my workouts in here tomorrow.

Today was my first workout using Superpump Lemonburst. I workout first thing in the morning and after a pretty restless night, I was tired and groggy and would of rather just stayed in bed, than to go workout. Somehow, I managed to drag my butt out of bed at 4:20 am.

As soon as I got out of bed this morning I took one scoop of Superpump with 8 oz of water, it mixed very well and tasted great too, it had just the right balance of sweet and sour lemon, without being too sweet or too tart, it was really good.

Soon after taking it, I started to feel more awake and energetic, but not jittery. I zipped around and got ready to go. At around 5:00 am, I ate a banana, drank my protein drink and headed for the gym with my husband. I didn?t even drink my coffee which is really crazy, I live in Seattle, and I never start my day without coffee. Once at the gym, I was excited to start my workout.

The workout was unbelievable; I can?t believe how strong and focused I felt. Especially considering that I didn?t sleep well the night before, the fact that I even made it though the workout was amazing, but to have such a strong workout was phenomenal.

Flat Barbell Bench 3X8, 70lbs
Bent Over Rows (overhand grip) 3X8 70lbs
Dips, 3X8, assisted with 25lbs
Pec Deck 3X12, 35lbs

Notes:
Last time I did 3X8?s in bench and rows, I was doing 65 lbs, so a 5 lb increase is really exciting.
Tomorrow, I think that I will eat my banana before I take the Superpump, I did notice some minor stomach upset, not sure if it was the Superpump or not, but I'll see if eating makes a difference.

Slept great last night, and felt somewhat refreshed this morning. (well, as refreshed as you can be at 4:30 am). Took my Superpump as soon as I got out of bed, at 5:00 ate a banana and my protein drink and went to the gym. Leg Day, love Leg Day..

Well, it was another great workout this morning. I have so much more energy for my early workouts and have felt so much stronger since I started using Superpump. No, PR?s today, but I felt like I could have gone heavier. (Next week). Notice a pump in my forearms and lower legs, it was great. My legs felt like jello when I left and they?re really feeling sore now.

Squats 3X8, 95lbs
Romanian DL 3X8, 95lbs
Lunges 3X12, 20lb db
Donkey Calf 3X12, 90lbs

Notes:
Workout today was legs, felt really good. For the last 6 weeks I have been doing 5X5?s and 6X4?s, I?m finding that it?s hard to figure out what weight use for my 3X8?s. The weight that I used today seemed pretty easy and I thought that I should have gone up, but I am going to increase my weight each week, so I don?t want to start off too heavy and plateau too soon. More PR's are coming soon. Anyway, Feeling great about my progress so far.

Day 3. Another fantastic work out this morning, took my Superpump and ate my banana and protein drink as usual. Felt lots of energy and focus for my Upper body workout today, maybe it was from my day off yesterday ? that was probably part of it - but I have no doubt that the Superpump was part of it too. Great pump again today also.

Here?s what I did:
Incline BB 3X8, 70lbs
Straight Arm Pull Down 3X8, 30lbs
Standing Military Press 3X8, 45lb
Wide grip Pull-ups 3X8, Assisted with 37.5lbs
Close grip chins BW X5

Notes:
Had to change the order of my workout, I wanted to do pull-ups after my inclines, but there was a women using the assist machine so I went to the squat rack to do my military?s and of course Mr. chest and bicep guy was doing his curls there (again), it was a bit irritating but, oh well, didn?t let it get to me and did straight arm pull downs instead. After wide grip pull-ups I had enough energy to do 5 unassisted narrow grip chins. Yeah!

Today was my 2nd lower body workout of the week. This morning, I took 1-1/2 scoops of Superpump and ate my banana and protein drink as usual. I loved the increased energy and the pump was unbelievable. Looking in the mirror, I looked narley, it must have been obvious to others as well because some of the quiet lookers decided to actually comment me on my physique. I can always tell they are looking/watching by peeping at the right angle via the mirror, as if they don?t know I can see them. But it was awesome, and it is always good for a boost. I looked so big and pumped and it was not only the looks as I was able to push just a bit harder than a normal lower day.

My lifts for the day:
Deadlifts 3X8, 95lbs
Leg Press 3X8, 200lbs
Hyper Extensions 3X10, EZ Bar + 10lbs (on my back). I find this easier than holding a 35 lb dumbbell
Decline Sit-ups 3X12, 20lb db

Notes
My hip flexor was bothering me today during my Dead's, it helps to warm up a bit more but the darn bar is so low unless I have the 35's on the bar. I wish my GYM had an actually dead rack so that I could warm up properly without having to fight the stupid bar to get the weight on and off.

While it can really mess up a workout to suddenly have a talker dogging your every step, you could ask one of your fellow gym patrons to help you slap the weights on and off. Find a gym Hercules and say, "Hey, could you hold this bar while I put weights on each end for my deads?" And then growl. "GRRR!! It's a POWER DAY, BROTHA!"

Or something like that.

On the other hand there's something special about handling the weights on your own, dragging the bench across the gym to the Smith machine area or lugging multiple 45's over to the leg press machine because they're all on the floor by the bench.

The only talkers I like are my good buddies when we talk about working out and the different aspects of it. If they talk anymore, i tend to ignore it.

This morning, I continued with 1-1/2 scoops of Superpump, banana and protein drink. I loved the increased energy and the pump was again awesome, upper body was so pumped my arms actually hurt. Superpump gave me so much increased strength and helped me push to another PR on bench today. I started with 73 lbs for my first set and it felt as if I could work just a bit harder, so I added 1/4 lb to both my 2nd and 3rd sets (love my fractional plates). Needed the tiniest bit of assistance from my husband on the last rep of the third set. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but everyday gets me stronger.

The damage done today:
Flat Bench: 1X8, 73lbs, 1X8 73-1/4 lbs, 1X8, 73-1/2 lbs.
Bent over rows (underhand) 3X8, 73 lbs I love this exercise, I can feel it working my mid back.
Dips 3X8, Assist -25
Pec Deck 3X8, 40lbs

Notes:
It was an awesome workout again today, I increase my on my bench and rows by 3 lbs from last week. Starting this week, I am going to hit PR's each week, for as long as I can, even if it's only in 1/2 lb increments - Superpump will help me get there.

Hell, I'll admit, I still get a bit intimated when I see 315 lbs waiting for me on a squat rack, even though I know I can do it

Yeah, I tend to just do it myself. At this gym nobody is doing dead's so I am kind of an oddity anyway. They usually just stare and wonder why I have the barbell on the floor.

Thanks, I try to stay positive, sometimes it gets frustrating cause the progress seems so slow.

Wow, 315 lbs on the squat rack, that would be imtimidating, great job though.

Today is a rest day, I got to sleep in an hour, this morning, it felt good. My legs are a sore, but in a good way, I'm gonna sit at my desk as much as I can. My manager brought in pizza for us for lunch, it's nice but I hate it when they bring in food/junk it is so hard to say No, cause they make you feel like you're not being a team player. So, I had one piece of vegetarian, it?s not gonna kill me, right?

Yesterday (Tuesday) was Leg Day/ Lower A Day. Got out of bed at 4:30 and took 1 and half scoops of Superpump as soon as I got out of bed, at 5:00 ate a banana and my protein drink and went to the gym.

I am loving the increased energy I have been having since taking Superpump, the increased enerty helped me move up in my squats from last week. Didn't really notice a hugh pump during my workout, but the increased strength and energy was definitely there.

Here is my workout
Squats 1X8 95lbs, 2X8 105 lbs ? moved up in my squats
Romanian DL 3X8, 105 lbs ? moved up in weight. Yeah.
Lunges 3X8, 20lb db ? Did one legged lunges, really worked my quads.
Donkey Calf 3X12, 90lbs, my calves felt like they were going to cramp up.

Notes:
Overall a great workout, my legs were shaking when I was done.

Hey, just stopping by to stay hi to a fellow logger. Looks like everything's going good for you so far. I haven't really noticed an increase in energy so far so maybe I'll try upping it to 1.5-2 scoops.

Hi thanks for stopping by.
You should try upping it to 1.5 scoops first and see how that goes. I noticed a big difference when I upped mine.

Thursday UpperB.
One and half scoops Superpump at 4:30 am, drank my protein drink which contains:
Primaforce Protein/Vanillabean, AST Creatine Monohydrate, Primaforce BCAA. ate a banana and left for the gym.
Nice energy and focus today, awesome workout. Notice a pump today, pretty cool.

Here's what I did:
Incline DB 3X8, 27.5 lb
Close grip chin ups, 1X5,X4,X3 BW, Wide grip 2X12 -40lbs
Standing Military Press 1X8 45lb, 2X8 50lb
Straight Arm Pull Down 3X8, 30lbs

Notes:
My hubby was not feeling well and didn?t go to the gym with me. That meant that I had no spotter, so I did inclines with dumbbells. I tried to get the 30's up, maybe if I had my spotter I could of done it, so I used my platemates on the 25's and did that.

Friday LowerB. I took 1 and a halfscoops of Superpump and ate my banana and protein drink at 5am. This workout rocked!!! My energy was excellent throughout and I managed to up the weight on my deads from last week ... then went a little lower on the leg press cause I was spent from the deads, but I am not too worried about that!!

what I did:
Deadlifts 3X8, 100bs - grueling
Leg Press 2X8 180, 1X8 200lbs
Hyper Extensions 3X10, E-Z Bar + 10lbs - I love doing these with the ez bar.
Decline Sit-ups 3X12, 30lb db - My arms and shoulders looked awesome in the mirror (I'll get a picture next time)

Notes
Felt great during this workout, my hip flexor was feeling much better. I have been slowly trying to get my dead's back up over that last couple of months. I love deadlifts, they are so hard and exhausting, but feel awesome at the same time.

I looked at your deadlift numbers last time and again this time and thought, "well, that's light," but then looked at your bodyweight! Zoinks! Bodyweight is crusher. And double bodyweight on Leg Press.
