Does cooking proeint powder cause it to break down?

I thought I had read that protein powder breaks down when you cook it but I cant remember where or when. I saw a lot of great recipes on the womens forum in the recipe thread and a few allow for cooking the protein powder. Anyone have any research on this issue?
