I went to the gym...but had no motivation, what gives?

Today i went to the gym....but once i get there I wasnt feeling the pump that i always get whenever i enter the room. I wasnt movitated to bench or anything and chest day is my favorite day. What gives? One of the trainers asked me How long have i been lifting and i said 9 weeks straight. He told me to take a break.

So if i were to take a break...how long should my break be?

and what about how i eat? do i eat more or less calories?

and do i get more or less protein in?

and what about creatine? Do i still have to drink that? Its been 1 month since loading phase.

please help me out...thanks!

Every 6 to 8 weeks you should take off a week. You'll find it really helps and you'll definately be pumped up for the gym at the end of your week off. I usually just eat like I normally do. Can't help you with the creatine though, don't know much about it.

You can take it off, or just shrug it off. Sometimes I just have un-motivated workouts, they come and go. The main thing is you need to get pumped up for the workout if you don't feel like pumping iron that much at that time. Heavy metal / comments that have been made to me like "You're never gonna get big" get me going.

Or putting myself down saying I'm a little **** and always will be one.

I always imagine myself during the next summer at the pool or swimming somwhere or taking my shirt off and looking totally ripped. That gets me motivated.

go rent "pumping iron">you havent been lifting long enough to take a week[if its only been 9 weeks since you began lifting]You are in a critical stage as a begginer, where 1 week can easily turn into 2,3,4.......next thing you know your telling people how you "used to" lift wieghts.Watch p.i. and get remotivated.

The past 3 days of working out have been horrible on me. Wednesday's upper body was totally hell, yesterdays HIIT was hell, and today's legs (particularly squats) were totally hell. However, I did everything I planned to and just toughed it out. It happens quite often with me since I'm in a huge calorie deficit and am doing a KETO diet and have energy problems often.
