Calorie intake on off days

I know in order to grow you have to eat, but what about periods where you're not hitting the weights?

I have a seemingly uncontrolable sleep issue; some days I can't sleep enough, sme days I sleep far too long - today I slept for too long and because of that I can't make it to the gym and still make it to work on time. In addition, the weekend is my rest period because my work schedule and the gym hours don't match up.

Luckily I'll have tomorrow to lift, but there end up being times where I can't lift Friday cause I sleep too long, and I'm not able to hit the gym again until Monday. During periods like that should I be scaling back the calories until Monday? Or should I always be eating a lot?

My body can't tell me how much weight I can lift. I just pick it up and lift it. I'm tired of my body telling me what I can and can't do. It's time to take control.

wow...i had no idea that the body was so smart as to "stop growing" on off days and magically begin the growth process on training days.... (SARCASM) if you are committed to lifting and lift at least 3x per week then your body is constantly growing and need calories to do so.
