Diet and Calorie Help. Wanting to gain muscle mass.

Im 18, 6'1", and weigh ~185, but i look skinnier and lighter than 185. I guess i am skinny fat. I have been trying to bulk and I have been lifting hard and heavy for a month solid now, usually 4-5x a week. I've been lifting for really 2 years, but haven't been pushing my self hard. I have been eating about 2500 calories a day, sometimes a bit more. I can see some gains through my whole body for sure, but i have a big stomach, and a lot of rolls when i sit, it looks like blubber. But when I flex, it looks not bad. i have like an ab or two that shows. Am i taking the wrong approach to this? Most people are huge at my weight but I feel so skinny. Should i keep bulking for now since thats the road I am on?

Pics would help, but it sounds like more mass would be best for you.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
    1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Figure out your maintenance level of calories (using online tdee calculators), and eat 200-400 calories over that amount. Aim to gain 2-3 pounds a month. If not, adjust your calories accordingly.

Make sure you get at least .8-1 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight, and at least .4 grams of fat per pound of bodyweight.

Would this cause me to lose any body fat or no?

No, but if you want to build your muscles you'll need to be in a caloric surplus. If you want to keep fat gain to a minimum, utilize a smaller surplus.
