OT: Skin care
Hi, this might not be the best place for this post. I ask the ladies as you probably know better than the guys would.
What is a good moisturizer for the face, and for the body that would NOT clog pores? I have dry skin, and I use a transdermal supplement. Therefore, I am looking for something to help cure the dry skin without hindering the effects of the transdermal.
Also, what is a good exfoliator? I think it would clean out dirts and other residue.
Any help would be appreciated.

it would depend on where you live and what brands and products are available.
i personally use oil of olay for my face (it can feel a bit greasy if you use too much, but a little goes a long way), and i use an alpha hydroxy serum every few days (may cause irritation on people).
i do a deep pore mask every 2 weeks to get the build up out of the pores. and i always use witch hazel for a toner before i moisturise in the morning and night.
as far as cleansing and scrubbing, i love st. ives products, theyre cheap but do what the expensive ones do plus they smell great. i use their foaming facial wash, and apricot facial scrub.
for my body i use the st. ives vanilla body wash, and moisturise with their firming body lotion. freeman's is a pretty good brand that i use when st. ives is out of stock. both are pretty similar.
the firming body lotion does feel a little greasy, so probably not the best thing, maybe just a simple aloe vera/sorb mix might work for your body.
one tip, you definitely dont need to get really expensive stuff, the cheap stuff is usually just as good and see if some shops have samples you can take home to try, so you can see if it works, rather than wasting money on something that might make you break out or just do nothing.
btw, i think ponds has just come out with a new range of poor refining stuff and they always have a good clean non greasy stuff.
cheers

Thanks Pam, I will look into those products. Oil of Olay probably would not be good for a guy to use. I went to the store with a female friend and she showed me all the different stuff at the cosmetic counter. Wow a women can easily spend $300 on all that stuff.

Hey Big,
smart man, you have come to the right place. Anyways, I can say I'm a product freak - I have pretty much tried everything except the unknown. Warning you I'm gonna give you a review on them.
Dermalogica Active Moist ~ my absolute favorite
- this is the only moisturizer that will get rid of my dry skin
- also good if your face is sensitive or irritated because it won't further irritate
- all natural ingredients and oil free
- It isn't cheap but a little goes a long way and they are quality products
- I like it because its light weight - it says that its meant for oilier skin but I used it when my face was stripped of oil it worked wonders
* You might also look into their Skin Hydrating Masque and Intensive Moisture Balance if your interested
Now, I know expensive doesn't mean better but in this case it does.
Other Moisturizers:
Eurcerin Renewal (Alpha Hydroxy Lotion)
St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin Face & Stress Gel
Exfoliators:
St. Ive's Invigorating Apricot Scrub
St. Ive's Medicated Apricot Scrub
* they are basically the same thing but the latter one I favor
1.) its in squeeze container
2.) the scrubby bead things seem to work better
In addition to exfoliators you might want to add a toner in there to help in assistance to get rid of dirt and other residue.
I highly recommend Neutrogena's Alcohol-Free Antispetic Cleanser
- first, of all it doesn't dry out your skin or leave it tight
- free of dyes and alcohol
- all natural
Anyways, I hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to shoot away.
