Snowboarding Season
I've only been snowboarding for 2 years, I skateboarded for 3 years before beginning snowboarding, so it was quick and painless to pick it up on the snow.
Anyone else here a big fan of snowboarding? What kind of boards/bindings/boots do you have/used. Let's throw up some recommendations for everyone.

I love snowboarding. I got a Capita after last year and can't wait to ride it. Before that had a Forum and a Nitro.
I've gotten to ride Burton and Ride boards before as well, both I like, but couldn't pass up the Capita... though now that I think I won't be doing as much freestyle as I'd like, I am slightly regretting the Capita, but oh well.
I've heard Rome boards are a good newer brand as well, friend loved his last year.
I really want to Wakeboard.
Anyone from NY area? Hell, or even Vermont. I'd so be down to meet up with some Miscers and snowboard somewhere in NY, NJ (which would basically be mnt. creek), or Vermont...

Forgot to mention, add your style (All-Mountain, freestyle, etc.)
I say off half-pipes. Never done those skateboarding, I did more street skate. I would say I'm freestyle on the mountain, I like to hit the terrain park a lot.
BTW, anyone else hate the squatters/posers/pussies sitting in the terrain park? I love giving them a face full of snow whenever I see them (no homo)

I love snowboarding. I got 2 times a year for the past 3 years with my cousins. But I am absolutely horrid. I can manage the Bunny Hills fine, but man going up that skilift to the top of Waterville Valley makes me a lil scared.
Plus I'm goofy footed, I lead with my weaker leg for some reason.
But if I could have gotten into skiing and snowboarding earlier in life, I would be a regular.

I mainly ride freestyle... though honestly, gonna calm that down this year just cuz don't feel like getting myself injured. I didn't care as much when I was in high school, but will be 21 this June and I already feel old, haha. Seriously, rollerblading, skateboarding, snowboard... my body has gotten ****ed up.
I love all freestyle though. Mainly smaller jumps, like no more than 15 foot gaps, cuz I'm a bitch and also snowboard on mountains that are icy and hurt. On nicer mountains with more powder I'll hit bigger stuff. I love jibbing (or griding if you dunno the word) and fan of halfpipe too. I'm not too good at pipe since can just barely air, but can do 360's and 540's with the small air I do get... it's fun. Again, needs to be a good pipe without crazy ice and horrible transitions.
edit* And been snowboarding since 6-7th grade. I only went a few times those years though and mainly learned in 8th grade and did the whole freestyle thing throughout HS. I actually only went three last year and didn't go at all the year before. I'll suck this year, but it'll come back to me.

YEAHHH!! SNOWBOARDING!!
I've already been once this season.
Board: Forum Youngblood
Boots: Forum Freestyle
Bindings: Forum Pro
Jacket: 686 Ace and Special Blend (one down and one shell)
Pants: Special Blend
Goggles: Oakley Wisdoms
I usually go to Big White BC every year but prolly not this year. I might check out Jay Peaks Vermont or maybe even go to Whistler.
As for my local hills, Glen Eden, Horseshoe, Mount St. Louis Moonstone, and Blue Mountain.. anyone ride at these places???
When I snowboard I go for all out SPEED and then freestlye in the terrain park.

I skate but really want to go snowboarding this year. How much would of day of snowboarding cost taking into consideration I have no equipment? Also,
How easy is the transition from cement to snow?

Love snowboarding, although i've only been maybe 5-6 times. My moms side of the family has a lake house up north and me and a few buddies were probably going to drive up there and snowboard.
Just had a big snowstorm hit today, and it's supposed to continue until 1pm tomorow. Then it's supposed to snow again on Thursday and Saturday.

Extremely easy. With no equipment I think you mean you have a jacket, pants etc. Ticket and rentals usually bring you up to and around 100 for the day. It's not bad at all. If you skate with tight trucks, its the same thing with a board with your feet locked in.

I ski and snowboard, but really prefer skiing. Dying to get out again this year. Had our 1st real accumulation of snow this morning and was thinking about going all morning on the drive into work. Can't wait! Been skiing and snowboarding for 16 years.

Been snowboarding 6 years here... got an OLD ass Heelside board that's fitted Goofy. I can't wait to get up to Mountain Creek in a couple weeks.

I've been snowboarding for about 5 years. I have a ****ty salomon board which will soon be replaced, Drake Mikey Leblanc's and DC Emblem boots. BOA sucks complete ass, never buy boots with it, you'll probably regret it.
Don't know if you folks have seen this, if not, check it out. It's pretty funny.

I've been snowboarding since like 6th grade proabably. (now soph. in college) My current setup is : Rome Artifact board, Rome 390 bindings, and burton boots(need to be replaced). I'd say I am mostly somewhat of a park rat as most the places areound me are VERY small, but when I go to bigger places I like just free riding/trees etc.
I highly recomend the rome boards/bindings. For a fairly new company their products are amazing (and also ranked highly by transworld snowboarding good woods for the past couple years.)
