overtraining?
i am taking 10 days off just to give my central nervous system and body a rest, i have gone probably 16 weeks without taking a week off of lifting and i have virtually no symptoms of overtraining, just some sort joints, i have pleauted on my gains though imo, should i take 2 weeks off? what are some other signs of overtraining?

I would say that you have def. reached some sort of plateau, although I couldn't say if it is due to overtraining or not. I would try to switch it up for a bit (take a week or two off weights) and do something that's physically challenging in another way... For example, I would try cross-country or downhill skiing/snowboarding, wall climbing (super good for strength), swimming/scuba diving, horseback riding. I'm an exercise junkie, so anything that would keep me from going crazy without convincing myself that I should get back to my training split. Once you get back to the gym, I would bet that your body's response to training would pick up again. I find that once I hit a plateau, taking a bit of time off always does me some good.

doesnt that kind of take away the whole point of taking a week off, if i do other physical demanding things, i think i need total rest, i will just jam on the guitar and study more
