Here is a quote from Big Cat regarding prostate hypertrophy....
Here is a quote from Big Cat:
"prostate hypertrophy occurs mainly if you are in the trouble period between 50 and 60. Its a combination of androgenic and estrogenic traits, and can usually be solved with anti-estrogen treatment. However it is best that if you have advanced prostate hypertrophy that you do not take any risks. As of age 45 a yearly check up would be advisable."
Can any of you bro's here who have had this happen please let me know what kind of anti-estrogen treatment you used to deal with this. I am only 29 and have suffered for the last 6 weeks weeks with BPH.
I have some Armidex and Novla still. Thoughts please!!

Go to the doc, you could have prostatitis and need antibiotics first.
This is not something to ask non-medical people, if there is something wrong SEE A DOCTOR and fast. Don't let it get out of hand.

Mcbain said this regarding the matter: "prostate enlargement (possible link to increased risk of prostate cancer especially if test is taken without finastride)".
How many here have taken finastride?

Hey blue,
I have seen a Dr. and they did treat it like prostatitis and took a TON of antibiotics. However in one of my repeated trips to the Dr. I talked with him about my use of androgenic substances and he was clueless about the link of BPH and adrongens/estroegens. That's why I am looking for other bro's expierences. I am not looking for you to give me a treatment plan but rather what was YOUR treatment of the problem.
Thanks!

I have taken finasteride, nolvadex, arimidex, proviron and have been on test for 2 years straight. I have had prostatitis twice in this time, NONE of it due to test.
Prostate problems can have NOTHING to do with gear.
Suck it up and go see the doc.
"Hey doc, I think I got a problem with my prostate"
"Did you do anything that could cause this"
"I do not seem to recall anything specific"
"Okay, bend over"
So you get the glove.
I just had a coworker who had his REMOVED because he had had some problems when he was younger and had not gotten it checked. Eventually it became Prost Cancer.
GO SEE THE DOCTOR. I'm dead serious about this.

Posted before I saw your reply.
I got antibiotics, knocked it right out. No VD or anything like that, just non-specific prostatitis.
I stopped using the finasteride as my hair has actually gotten thicker on the test.
I take saw palmetto and zinc EVERY DAY.
I am in my late 30's so I keep an eye on this.
If it has been treated and keeps coming back, you may need to see a specialist. It's worth it for the cure AND the peace of mind

I have been probed twice so far and have seen 2 differnent Dr.s about the problem. I am finally going to see a Urologist on Tuesday. I am not avoiding medical attention in any way. I am confused by your statement though about it not being related to the use of Gear. What about Big Cat and Patrick Arnolds comments on the matter. Im talking about the enlarged prostate issue.
Did you find Nolva worked at all?

Well, I did have a swollen prostate, but it was due to prostatitis, and shrunk after treatment. I have had no androgen related enlargment of the prostate.
Again, saw palmetto, zinc lots of water etc.. keeps me healthy.

The only thing about the onset of these problems that is still confusing to me is that I felt nothing during my cycle. Afterwords, about a month or so, is when I first noticed my onset of symptoms. I would love for this to be not related to Gear or any other adrogenic substance but others seem convinced that it must be connected???!!!!

Many studies of older men with prostate problems showed a repeated trend of low zinc levels.
It's been the standard well before saw palmetto was out.

That's what happened to me too. It was during the "let's run some tests" phase and they had me off for 3 months and after 2 I got the prostate probs, just 'prostatitis' urologist said it had nothing to do with the therapy/testosterone.

See this confuses me even more! My cycle was not even true Gear, just heavy 1-Test with other PH's. I did post cycle Armidex and Nolva.
I will certainly tell the Urologist on Tuesday about my use of Adrogens and see what he says.
So do you cycle the Finastride with your Test use only?

Here is an interesting statement:
"Currently there is a debate as to what couses it. In one camp the train of thought is that high levels of test are to blame, and on the other side doctors say it's the low test levels that are to blame. The reasoning being that low test levels in the blood stream cause the prostate to swell like a "sail" to catch more free test. Makes sence, espacially since most old men with swollen prostates can't exactly be said to have particularly high test levels. It's the prolonged low testosterone level that can actually cause these problems. Of course using steroids that have a very high rate of conversion to DHT is a bad thing as well. I remember how it was difficult to urinate when i did my first cycle of d-ball."

Yes. Prob would be a good idea with fina too.....
Start the finastride at 1-1.25mg ed 1 week before starting the test then run it at the same dosages eod through the duration of the cycle until the drugs are completely out of your system (i.e. you can end when you start clomid, but I usually carry it over about halfway into clomid to be safe).
Read that link I posted though guys!!!!! It's an amazing thread. Long but LOTS of good info, not just about prostate cancer, it's about lots of stuff.

I started it when the doc started giving me build up rounds, IE shot a week.
I stopped because my hair got thicker without it and it decreased my strength a bit.
Test will go after the prostate if there is too much EXCESS. You can create open receptors through heavy exercise ot use this excess test, so unless you are getting silly with the cycle and have MPB, there should be no need for finast.

Difficulty in urination, frequent night time urination are two of the most common I believe.

You don't necessarily have to have the extreme sides, it can manifest oitself just as a constant feeling of "pressure" between the legs.
The glove test tells all. Just make sure you've never seen your doc with mascara if he's a guy.

Hello bro's!!
Here is what I just found out at the Urologist today.
First he had to "milk" my prostate by massaging it! That was one of the most painful things I have ever had to do.
After collecting the specimen he concluded the following:
1. I do not have acute prostatitis.
2. That I do not have Benign Prostate Hypertrophy.
3. That my problem IS NOT RELATED TO HORMONES, STEROIDS OR THE LIKE.
4. That I DO have Chronic Prostatitis but that I should recover completely and may never have a problem again.
So I start a new very different kind of antibiotic (broad spectrum) that apparently has great success with the Chronic version of the problem.
Thats the update! Next cycle is already being planned!
Jake
