I've tried so many protein bars that I decided I need to stop being a lazy ass and post up some review . Hope these help some ppl.

DS Vanilla Almond Sustain Bar

• Taste - 8/10 - I thought it was very simple tasting, which is good and bad. I expected with 16g of sugar that it would be much sweeter and something to really look forward too. It's definitely better than many other bars though.
• Texture 8.5/10 - Somewhat dry but really easy to eat. Hardly any aftertaste at all.
• Ingredient Profile - 9/10 - Really great natural profile, the sugar is a little too high for me and doesn't seem to correlate with the taste, wouldn't mind a couple less grams of fat as well.
• Price - 8/10 - Fairly priced considering the ingredients, and in the same price range as most bars.
• Overall - 8.5/10 - Pretty good bars, just a little disappointed with all the hyped up reviews on this board. I want to try the pb fudge ones next but hear they aren't as good . Overall great job with the bars, you have a winner here, pretty cool how they come in individual boxes too, wouldn't mind getting rid of them if it could lower the price to 20$ per box.

DS Peanut Butter Sustain Bar

• Taste - 8.5/10[/b] - Better tasting than the vanilla imo. They got very addicting after a while too. I would down like 2-3 a day .
  
• Texture 9/10[/b] - Somewhat dry but really easy to eat. Hardly any aftertaste at all.
• Ingredient Profile & Price save as above
• Overall - 8.75/10 - I liked these a little better than the vanilla.

Chef Jay's caramel apple trioplex

• Taste - 7.5/10 - Pretty good, definitely noticed the apple, didn't notice the caramel at all really.
  
• Texture - 4/10 - For having an add on the label saying that they're more moist, these things were terrible. It was like eating sand and at times it was hard to swallow. I also didn't like the real grainy texture at times.
  
• Ingredient Profile - 7.5/10 - Pretty good for a protein bar. Sucked that the main source of protein was soy, but 5g of fiber is nice. A little too much sugar for not tasting that great.
  
• Price - 7/10 - Around average for a protein bar and pretty fair for the amount of protein and dietary fiber.
  
• Overall - 6.5/10 - They're ok, but I probably won't buy them again.

Chef Jay's PB chocolate chip trioplex

• Taste - 7.5/10 - Pretty good, but I really didn't taste the pb that much and there was sort of a fruity flavor. Kind of comparable to the pb choclate chip clif bar to me, but not as good.
  
• Texture - 6/10 - Better than the caramel apple but still really dry
  
• Price & Ingredient Profile the same as above.
  
• Overall - 7.5/10 - They were definitely better than the green apple, but I still probably wouldn't buy these.

Premier 1 Chocolate PB

• Taste - 8/10 - Pretty good, similar to the pb detour bars but better imo.
• Texture - 8/10 - A little sticky and dry sometimes.
• Ingredient Profile - 8/10 -[/b] 3g of sugar but 22g of sugar alcohol, 30g of good protein sources, and 3g of dietary fiber.
• Price - 6/10 - At over 2$ a bar these things are a little out of my budget for daily consumption. They're not much more than any other bars out there though.
• Overall - 7.5/10 - When I tried this bar I was really impressed with the taste and ingredients. I'll probably purchase some the next time I'm looking for some new protein bars and treat myself.

Premier 1 Caramel Nut

• Taste - 8.75/10 - Man these were awesome. Tasted like I was eating a real candy bar.
  
• Texture - 9/10 - No problems really, the caramel was pretty sticky and sometimes it oozed out.
  
• Ingredient Profile & Price same
  Overall - 8.5/10 - A little better than the Chocolate PB, I still pick one of these up every once in a while at a local supp store

Eh, I usually by these with other stuff and by the time I pricematch it's not really worth losing the 10% discount.

Promax Cookies & Cream

• Taste - 10/10 - Amazing, better than most candy bars imo.
• Texture 9/10 - Leaves you thirsty and gets dry in your mouth/throat sometimes
• Ingredient Profile - 4/10 -[/b] Almost 30g of sugar, hfcs, some trans fat eek. Only plus is the 30g of good protein sources and low fat.
• Price - 9.5/10 - Just a little over 1$/bar pretty good.
• Overall - 7/10 - Best tasting bar I've ever had. Not good for daily consumption, but great for a cheat every once in a while

Promax Chocolate Peanut Crunch

• Taste - 8.5/10 - Pretty good, a little better than the premier 1 and detour.
  
• Texture - 7.5/10 - Not as good as the C&C but not bad. A little stickier
• Ingredient Profile - 5/10 -[/b] 22g of sugar in this one and 2g of fiber make it a lil better
  
• Price same as above.
  
• Overall - 6.5/10 - Ok for pb chocolate, but you can get healthier bars that taste similar.

Promax Chocolate Mint

• Taste - 7/10 -Could definitely taste the mint, somewhat similar to cytogainer's chocolate mint. Got old after a while.
  
• Texture 7/10 - Ok, a little dry and boring.
  
• Price & Ingredients same as above.
  
• Overall - 6/10 - Good price but not as good as the others.

Promax Double Fudge Brownie

• Taste - 6/10 - Alright, the chocolate tasted kind of weird to me.
  
• Texture 8/10 - A little more moist than the PB.
  
• Price & Ingredients same as above.
  
• Overall - 6/10 - Ok, nothing great though

Power Crunch C&C

• Taste - 8/10 - Pretty good, not as good as promax.
• Texture 8/10 - Leaves you thirsty and gets dry in your mouth/throat sometimes
• Ingredient Profile - 6/10 -[/b] A little high in fat and low in protein.
• Price - 6/10 - Just a little over 1$/bar pretty good however it's low in protein and high in fat.
• Overall - 7/10 - A little better than the promax bar for daily consumption for me, but it's not great. Nice cheap snack

Power Crunch PB Cream

• Taste - 9.5/10 - Best tasting PB bar out there.
• Texture 8/10 - Leaves you thirsty and gets dry in your mouth/throat sometimes
• Price and ingredients pretty much the same.
• Overall - 7.5/10 - Better tasting and somewhat better profile then the c&c

Power Crunch PB Cream

• Taste - 7.5/10 - One of the better pure chocolate bars out there.
• Texture 8.5/10 - Pretty good, goes down easy.
• Price and ingredients same as above
• Overall - 6.75/10 - Ok tasting, mediocre profile.

Pure Protein PB Chocolate

• Taste - 9/10 - Very good, better than sustain but not as good as power crunch.
• Texture 9/10 - nothing bad
• Ingredient Profile - 8/10 - 30g of quality protein (isolate, milk isolate, casein) only 10g of fat & 9g of sugar. A little high in saturated fat and sugar alcohols.
• Price - 8.5/10 - Fairly priced for what you're getting.
• Overall - 9/10 - Really love this bar. Better tasting than the sustain bar, but the ingredients aren't as good

Pure Protein Chocolate Chip

• Taste - 7.5/10 - Tasted kinda like chocolate chip cookie dough, tastes better if you microwave it for a little.
• Texture, Price and Ingredients the same
• Overall - 8/10 -Pretty good, gets old kinda fast

Pure Protein Strawberry Shortcake

• Taste - 3/10 - YUCK, they tried to put kinda like a strawberry poptart filling in there and failed hard.
• Texture, Price and Ingredients the same
• Overall - 6/10 -Gross taste, ok profile.

Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe

• Taste - 8/10 - Pretty good, the little chocolate chip pieces are nice.
• Texture, Price and Ingredients the same
• Overall - 8.25/10 -I liked this chocolate bar, pretty good.

Peanut Butter & Caramel

• Taste - 8/10 - One of the better PB bars I tried. The caramel was a definite bonus.
• Texture 9/10 - Nothing bad, lots of peanuts on the top, its chewy and crunchy.
• Ingredient Profile - 7/10 - 28gs of protein and 4g of dietary fiber. Too much fat (especially saturated) for my liking though. Kind of high in sugar & sugar alcohols as well.
• Price - 8/10 - Pretty competitive for what you're getting.
• Overall - 7.75/10 - This bar was pretty enjoyable. It definitely isn't a bar I can incorporate into my diet though unless it was a cheat, or used pretty sparingly.

Creamy Vanilla & Caramel

• Taste - 8/10 - Pretty good, the vanilla was pretty weak though, it tasted pretty much like a snickers to me.
• Texture - Same
• Ingredient Profile - 7.25/10 - 5g less of fat and 1g more of dietary fiber make it a little better.
• Price - Same
• Overall - 8.0/10 - I liked this bar as well.

ABB XXL Marshmallow

• Taste - 6/10 - It was ok, pretty sweet, didn't really taste like marshmallow.
• Texture 7/10 - Very thick.
• Ingredient Profile - 5/10 - I don't have the label with me but it was 500ish cals, I remember around 40g of protein, 10g of fat, but 50g of sugar
• Price - unknown
• Overall - 5/10 - Unless these things are like 1$ a bar there's probably no way I'm ever buying them.

AST Vyo-Pro Bar

• Taste - 9/10 - Really good, almost tasted like a real brownie.
• Texture - 7/10 - Really flimsy, like a melted powerbar or something.
• Ingredient Profile - 8/10 - I really like the profile & ingredients except it has a small amount of trans fat, I'm guessing <.5g
• Price - 9/10 - With the 10% discount there around 1.30/bar
• Overall - 8.0/10 - I really liked this bar, wish I hadn't noticed the partially hydrogenated soybean oil at the end of the ingredient list .

Zero Impact Chocolate PB

• Taste - 7/10 - Pretty boring, similar to the pb trioplex bar.
• Texture 6/10 - Pretty much the exact same as the trioplex bar
• Ingredient Profile - 9/10 - Most likely the best ingredient profile for a protein bar, however the fat content is too high for me to be perfect. If it had about 5-6g less grams of fat this bar would be perfect for me.
• Price - 8/10 - Pretty expensive but fairly priced considering the ingredients.
• Overall - 8.25/10 - Tasted very good, sometimes I can get these for 4$ for 2 bars, which is pretty good so I stock up. Taste is a lil eh..but overall a very good bar.

Zero Impact Pumpkin Supreme

• Taste - 8/10 - Like others say, doesn't really taste like pumpkin but it is more enjoyable than the Chocolate PB
• Texture 7.5/10 - A lot more moist than the Chocolate PB.
• Ingredient Profile & Price save as above
• Overall - 8.75/10 - This bar was better overall, really enjoyed it.

fat is needed in bars as they act as a MRP quite a bit and most arent that high. Also notice hes reviewing the ingredients. I doubt he'll be scoring any high that have high simple carbs.

Exactly. I usually use a protein bar to go with a meal at work. I usually eat a skinless baked breast/thigh with a honey n oats bar and then I include either a sustain or isoflex bar. It's just to add some calories and make the meal a little more enjoyable.

Yah, I understand what you mean. Right now sometimes I eat 2 bars a day but when you're already eating so much chicken a day sometimes I need a break and something good to eat like prebed (sustain bar cuz of casein) that is filling.

I agree that the high fat content is the only slight negative because eating one forces me to rework my macros for the day just because it isnt really in balance with my 40/40/20 diet. I havnt tried the Sustain bars, mainly because I am bulking right now and they dont have enough calories for a full meal replacement. Maybe I will check them out on a later cut.

Thanks very much. Definitely have to give the sustain bars a go. One surprising thing about the sustain bar is how small they are. Not much bigger than like a 50g pure protein bar that you get at wallmart. They arne't very filling which is bad, cuz sometimes I eat like 2 in a row haha.

Dang, that sorta sucks. If I am cutting, I definently want something that will be filling so I dont grab for something else.

• Taste - 3/10 - Gets about a 1 if unheated, 5 if microwaved. Very chalky tasting, not very good at all
• Texture 5/10 - Very dry
• Ingredient Profile - 9/10 - Really great natural profile, low in sugar, 25g of protein, 10g of good fats, as well as rolled oats
• Price - 10/10 - Best priced bar for the ingredients IMO
• Overall - 8/10 - Basically a perfect bar for me. 12 bars for 15$ considering the ingredients is amazing. They would be perfect for me if they tasted better.

Chocolate Chip

• Taste - 5/10[/b] - Not as terrible as the peanut butter but not enjoyable either.
• Texture -6/10[/b] - A little better than the pb.
  Ingredient Profile & Price save as above
• Overall - 9/10 - I liked these a little better than the pb, will definitely be buying these again. Keep in mind these do not taste very good at all though and are almost hard to eat haha.

The best bar ive ever tried has been EAS Myoplex deluxe chocolate peanut butter. Look into it. THEYRE AWESOME. However I dont eat many bc they are more of a cheat meal IMO.
