To take or not to take: protein shakes on off days.

I'm curious here... with my current regimine, I take:

One whey shake after waking up.
    One whey/creatine shake after workout.
    One casein shake before bed.

But what is recommend on my days I don't work out? I would assume the PO shake is not necessary, but what about the whey and casein shake?

You drink the shakes to make up for the protein that you don't get by eating food. Shakes are SUPPLEMENTS. If you get twice your bodyweight in protein from your food then don't take it. IF you are not you supplement with the shakes.

    1) I'd add a shake / BCAA's preworkout

    2) Yes. Drink shakes on off days, if needed to meet your total daily protein intake goal.

I'm just concerned that taking a casein shake at night on an off day will just store the extra calories as fat since I did not workout that day. Would that be the case?

Depends on TOTAL DAILY calorie intake.... not that one shake.
