Cissus RX - Not a log just a stand alone statement
I just wanted to report on a supplement that I've been using for the last month or so with great results. I was directed to Cissus RX by a trusted friend after developing Tendonitis in my left elbow and a connective tissue strain in my right shoulder, both of which were hindering my lifting efforts and causing me pain 24/7. Cissus RX is an extract of the Cissus Quadrangularis herb that has been used for centuries in India and is in capsule form. I always approach herbal supplements with a certain skepticism as I figure, "if it's been around so long and works so well, why haven't I heard of it before?". I had tried the simple ground up herb cissus quadrangularis, but had to discontinue taking it after a week or so due to the courseness of the powder. It was like trying to drink sand mixed with water, and left my throat raw. Enter trusted friend! He told me about the Cissus RX and because I do trust his opinions on many things, I tried it. I also contacted other board members here that had mentioned it in various posts and received good remarks from them regarding it's use.
I took 6 caps/day for two weeks and admittedly, for the first week and a half, I didn't notice much difference, but then I noticed that I was able to sleep easier. The next step was noticing more range of motion without pain in both of my problem areas. By the beginning of the second week, I was PAIN FREE for the first time in months! Now before you say that I could have done the same thing with normal ancdotes (Glucosamine, MSM, Chondroitin, fish oils etc) let me tell you that I have had two arthroscopic surgeries and a reconstructive surgery all on my left knee. I have taken all of these products for years and they have been quite effective at keeping the knee fluid and strong. Cissus RX targets tendons and connective tissue that these "normal" supps don't do much for. From MY experiences with Cissus RX I would, and have recommended it to friends. I post this here to help others who may be looking for some help with tendonitis or other connective tissue issues without much success. I have no affiliation of any sort to anyone that sells Cissus RX, so I get nothing out of this at all. I only post this information because it worked wonders for me and hopefully will for others as well.
It's a solid "does what it says it will" supplement and deserves a look.
See ya on the boards!

I've been taking the herb cissus quadralingaris for about a week now. Very inexpensive and have no problem with it in juice or protein shakes. I hope it helps with my tennis elbow. Got mine at beyond a century for $12.50

The powdered herb is great if you can stand to swallow it. I'm just too much of a girly man to put up with it. Now I have 3 of the bags of the herb sitting under my office desk.
GG
Edit: You probably already know this, but I was told that the proper dosage of the powdered herb was 6 to 9 teaspoons each day for effective use. I never made it far enough with it to judge effectiveness at that dose, so can't help you further than that. It would be interesting to compare the results between powder and capsule form though!

I bought Cissus RX for my mom, she has a discomfort on her hands and forearms for a long time, could be the beginings of Carpal syndrome, she has been on it for 4 days and has not yet reported any improvements.

Cissus helps tremendously with the tendonitis in my elbows and offers SOME comfort from the impingements and resulting inflammation in my shoulders. I never really had any luck at all with Glucosamine, MSM, Condroiten, or Celadrin... even when taking all of them together. I'm a believer in the product, I've purchased like 8 bottles for my own use... and 7 for other people.
I've got a friend of mine trying it for an ulcer... Cissus is said to help with that. If he gives me positive feedback in that regard I'll be sure to share it.
PS: The supposed "Cissus Pump" seems to be real for me... two weeks into my PCT I'm still getting the ridiculous pumps I was getting on-cycle from Superdrol. I have NEVER experience this sort of pump from any creatine, arginine, or pump product of any sort. The only one of which I'm currently using being a small dosage of creatine mono in my daily shakes.

for the dosage of what I have it says a quarter teaspoon, which would be like a few caps. I hadn't heard of 6-9 teaspoons. That's a lot, no wonder you couldn't drink it, that would be mud.

For those of you with tendonitis, do u just workout through the pain? I have taken 10 days off bc of tendonitis and today I thought i was ready to start back up again. So I started off w/ chest going very light 60% of max and I could just feel it wasn't right still. So I finished up the chest routine but did not do tri's. So do you all just work through the pain ughh im so frustrated and confused w/ this.

Cissus works well for tendonitis but did nothing for shoulder impingment, at least in my case. With tendonitis I would push through the pain but this jsut caused further damage until it impacted workouts. Cissus allows you to push through the pain but it's probably better to take a few weeks off so it can actually repair the injuries. I noticed a mild pump but nothing like SD, cee or a NO product. I'm interested to hear if the bulk powder is just as effective and I doubt 6-9 teaspoons are really needed.

The 6-9 teaspoons was the recommendation of the place that sold the powder. It IS an awful lot of the stuff though. Interested to see what dose of the powder IS effective if anyone knows......

Sorry, I jsut got back to the thread and saw the question.
Yes, I had just been trying to work through it prior to the Cissus RX but the pain had gotten worse and had become constant. I didn't feel like taking Ibuprofen and simsilar every day just to mask the pain, I wanted something that could actually help reverse the damage and in the process get rid of the pain. Cissus RX seems to be doing this for me. It had gotten to the point, that I could no longer do certain lifts (inside hammer curls were simply out of the question) and once it got to that point something needed to be done.

The pain was getting bad enough that I thought I was going to if I hadn't already. That's why I wanted to let people know about Cissus RX. Since using it, I can continue to lift heavy without the pain, and the tendon is doing much better. Just wanted other people in the same boat to know that something out there DOES work.

I'm not saying that it's "better than any other joint pain reliever", it is a product that addresses pain issues that most others don't. I'm not abandoning my chondroitin/msm/glucosamine mix, or my fish oils, but Cissus RX helps tendons where the others are mainly effective at keeping the joints fluid and free, and helping the cartiledge.
I just got picked up to test another new product starting in mid October that sounds promising for pain relief, should be interesting. It is supposed to help bone strength and tendons as well. I will include it in the upcoming Phera Plex and SD cycle log.
